NOTE: I AM EDITING THIS COMMENT IN ORDER TO TRY TO HELP THOSE OF YOU WHO GET HUNG UP TRYING TO ANSWER THE LOGIC QUESTION.Do you have trouble with your drivers door locking you out also?
You answered your own post with the picture. Note the green check for the LATCHED seatbelts. Until the computer sees the 3 rear latched the pop up will continue and you will have to clear it.
I'd LOVE to hear how a Ford engineer tries to make any sense whatsoever out of this.
That does not mean I need, want, or expect anybody here to respond with their attempt to make any sense out of this. It is the equivalent of a rhetorical question. It's somewhat similar to saying something like "I wish Ford programmed this differently." I am simply expressing exasperation over this seeming to be illogical. No response is necessary. Not at all.
Especially when the Owners Manual explicitly states, "This warning displays if an occupant unfastens the rear seatbelt buckle or it becomes unfastened.
Note: If a rear seat is unoccupied, or an occupant never fastens the seatbelt buckle to begin with, the warning will not display.
Note: Front seating positions appear in this warning display. Warnings for unfastened front seatbelt buckles appear in the initial warning lamp."
Requiring the rear seat buckles to be fastened in order to prevent the seat belt warning from displaying directly contradicts the statement "If a rear seat is unoccupied, or an occupant never fastens the seatbelt buckle to begin with, the warning will not display."
