It seems as if this only works if all the seatbelts in the back row are also buckled before starting the truck. If not, it doesn't matter if the driver is buckled or not before starting the truck, the seatbelt status screen will still show up.Not necessarily true.
For decades, I've habitually buckled up before starting my car, but when I buckle up before pressing the brake and pushing the start button in my '25 Lariat, that annoying reminder shows up and does not go off until I press the "OK" button. Not only is that at least as annoying as any of the other incredibly annoying things about the vehicle, but (as is true with all those other things) it is 100% unnecessary.
