I recently took my e-bike up to Jacksonville for some beach riding. It rained for much of the 3 hour trip. The battery was removed but I was still concerned about water getting into the contacts so I used a hair dryer to blow dry it before reinserting the battery. The fat tires did well in the soft sand which was not hard packed like it Is at Daytona beach.

Glad to show it off!

My bike is almost 100 pounds, and after experimenting with lifting it into the bed, I decided that wasn't a sustainable strategy.
Ramps cost almost as much as the bike rack, and the short Maverick bed won't actually accommodate the bike.
I may attempt some form of locking it down in the bed with the tailgate open, but I'm not sure that would take less time than installing the bike rack when I need it, and that is super easy to use.

P.S. The upright holder and the ratcheting straps on the wheels allow me to tighten it down very securely.
Hey did you purchase a bike cover to protect it when traveling - there are so many options out there and the reviews are all over the place?

I shopped some of these locally the hitch pin is a specialty item for the bike rack since it screws in verses slip through so no guessing buying from the OEM
I've been wondering if I could use a NON-screw-in hitch pin, because that is the most frustrating part of mounting the carrier. For sure on longer trips the no-rattle is nice, but I wonder if an plain pin would be fine for short trips.

I did not, but I am typically only taking my bike a few miles on days nice enough to ride, so normally no need. I haven't taken it cross-country on the highway yet. I might consider a cover at that point. I haven't researched them though.

I haven’t received the bike rack yet expecting it on 3/16 - my past experience tells me the screw-in hitch pin is required but maybe in this case it’s not but I won’t know until it arrives -I’m okay either way since most of my trips will be long hauls while flat towing the Maverick behind my RV…

Ouch those extra items are expensive even on sale:

Camo 2-Bike Hitch E-bike Rack with Ramp

Sale Prices:

locking hitch pin: $29.99
anti-rattle receiver device: $29.99
tail light kit: $89.99
To address the prices of Young Electric components I just received the anti-rattle tightener for $29.99 it’s extremely heavy duty compared to one I purchased at a local trailer parts supplier for $40.00 - I’m hoping the rest of the Young Electric bike rack components are of this level of quality

Looking for a e-Bike carrier for your Maverick

Anyone who has traveled with or transported e-Bikes will understand the challenges in doing this task, this is mostly due to their weight, many e-Bikes weigh between 60 - 100 pounds. This presents a few different challenges compared to transporting a non-electric road bike. I’ve tried a few different solutions and bike carrier brands over the past few years including Thule, Yakima and Hollywood bike racks and I’ve found all fell short on a number of fronts when it comes to transporting e-Bikes.

Well I think I may have found the best solution with the Young Electric products, at least for my situation. I found Young Electric, a company I wasn’t familiar with, so I did some additional research and boy was it worth my time. I read the reviews, watch as many YouTube videos as I could find online as well as looking at the detailed design and specifications. I also reached out to this manufacturer to answer a few questions I had.

This customer service team answered all my questions during this process and once I place my order they continued to provide me with shipping updates, they also shipped all the products I ordered within a few days with one exception which was the tail light kit which I knew about the delay prior to ordering, The 66 pound bike carrier arrived on schedule via UPS and arrived in exceptional packing and damaged free. This is a quality product from the heavy duty carbon steel structure, the aluminum ramps, aluminum bike rails, hardware, plastic components and flawless paint as well as the amazing craftsmanship.

The assembly and installation was very easy I watched a very good and accurate instructional video on YouTube and referenced the instructions included with the carrier - I conducted a test drive after loading both e-bikes and couldn’t be happier, this bike carrier is everything they said it would be, sturdy and secure.

What is your tongue weight for this setup ?
The rack and two e-bikes weight comes in at 210 lbs each bike weighs 72 pounds and the rack weighs 66 pounds the bike rack has a capacity of 200 lbs (removing the batteries reduces the weight by 18 lbs.) so I feel I’m okay

That seems well under the rated 400lbs tongue weight rating even with the batteries, although taking them out for a long road trip sounds like a smart idea.

I like that it comes with 2 vertical bars, mine only has one! I have been concerned that if the pin ever sheared off that holds that bar in place I could lose $3k worth of e-bikes!!!

The Maverick set up for 2K towing has a 200 lbs tongue capacity the 4K package has a 400 lb tongue capacity 👍

I am told both the 2K and 4K towing packages both have a 400 lb tongue weight capacity- thanks for clarifying STARBUG!

Rick I had similar concerns I gotta say this is the best bike rack I’ve owned its heavy duty and fits both bikes beautiful and secure - now I need to find the right bike cover to keeps these out of the elements and not rip apart while blasting down the highway

No pin this vertical bar locks down with a 19mm bolt and still adjust side to side with stops and can lay completely down in one direction

I found a buyer for my Thule bike carrier already sold my Yakima bike carrier and plan to sell my Hollywood bike carrier in a garage sale so I’m happy now👍
