Yes, I've seen it several times, and saw a video of a Toyota exec talking about it. The following was posted by a dealer:

First I've seen of it. None of the hardcore Toyota guys who are in touch with company insiders have said a peep about this. Seems fake.

Remember the computer term, Bloatware’ ?

The Tacoma and the Ranger and Colorado,
To name just a few.

Bloatware refers to pre-installed, often unnecessary software on new computers or phones that consumes storage, memory, and processing power, slowing performance. Usually added by manufacturers for profit, these apps—ranging from trialware to unneeded utilities—are frequently difficult to remove. Common types include manufacturer apps, carrier apps, and trial software.

Now look at all our vehicles.

Nothing new.
The Youngers will never see it.

I don’t make fun of guys with big trucks even if they haul only haul air.
I admit that “occasionally” I don’t enjoy parking around the corner from a local store with only 10 parking spaces in front. But at Walmart or Home Depot…enjoy! It’s the line painters fault anyway. Could giant pickups have some of the handicap spaces?

If it is real, it's likely taking about the already known about EV landcruser based truck I already mentioned. It won't be a competitor for the Maverick by any means. It will likely be $50k vehicle. More likely a competitor the the compact EV truck Ford is making, but not in price.

And as a side, we all know dealerships never lie, and are 100% truthful at all times right? :p

I tried a different link and it worked. https://www.diehltoyotabutler.com/heres-what-we-know-about-toyotas-new-compact-pickup/

The article does stress 2027 debut. Guess we will all have to wait and see. Never count out Toyota. They play the car game like Kenny Rogers played the gambler.
NOT HAPPENING!!

Had my Mav for 15 months now.
I still park in the back 40 at Wallyworld and make the hike. Never had a vehicle this long without door dings.

I've been watching this rumor for quite some time now, anticipating a Stout from Toyota. I gave up on them and bought the Maverick a couple weeks ago. Once I figured out the transmission was an eCVT not the conventional CVT style I was willing to buy the Maverick. If they do make a smaller truck, I doubt it would have as nice of a driving experience as a Maverick at the same price point.

I do the same thing. I've gotten two door dings since 1994. One I don't know when happened, the other my F150 was in the back 40 and somehow a shopping cart banged it in two places.

That’s the one risk with “remote” parking. Those carts find a way. If only there was a place to park carts after use?…oh I forgot….humans! Also, in my early years those cars didn’t “ding”, they chipped paint.
