So if I read this right some fx4 have these tires and some don’t? Is there a definitive trim that gets these? Regional?

Great news! I ran full circle on tires. First I wanted KO2's then I wanted wildpeak at3's. Then I wanted the toyos open countries. Then I started to think that just maybe since I do 99% road driving that I should get crossover tires like the wildpeak at trails.
Then I looked a bit closer at the pirellis a lot closer and figured "meh, F it. Good enough!" :ROFLMAO:

Glad to hear they are working out for you.
I’ve had Toyos on my Chevrolet K1500. They are great tires but so so heavy. So heavy that they really impact gas mileage and it’s also heavy mass that’s unsprung. Great for traction and carrying heavy loads but just wanted you to know that they are crazy heavy or atleast mine were.

The non-LT Open Country IIIs are some of the lightest AT tires around. Lighter than the Wildpeaks and way lighter than KO2s

All FX4 Mavs in the US come with Pirellis. If you get the $795 wheel upgrade with or without FX4, you get 235 Wildpeaks.

Yeah, in the course of obsessive tire shopping issues like this have become apparent. When the pirellis wear out I may just go the all season route, except I have a bad habit of blowing tires by clipping the sidewalls on curbs and AT tires are tougher. Weight will be a consideration.

By the time I get my pirelli’s winter will be gone, as I’m not even scheduled yet 😔
Ford had spoiled my dream’s of AWD for this winter.

Yah don't know if he moved from Australia or what he has Sydney on his profile
Sydney, Nova Scotia, Canada. The largest city on Cape Breton Island and the regional centre for that part of Nova Scotia.

The Pirellis fail miserably as soon as they get loaded up with snow and you're on any kind of incline. I'll be changing them out soon.

I live in BC, Canada and the stock Pirellis are not even legal for 6 or 7 months of the year on the highways ( October 1st to April 30th in my area ) , as they do not have a Snowflake or M / S designation . I ordered my Maverick with the Falkens as they do have the " Snowflake" designation . I may also get a set of Winter specific tires, such as Blizzaks, for next winter .

That is good that your tires are M / S ( Mud and Snow ) rated. In that case they would actually be legal where I live . ( At least on the FX4 ; I wonder if the FX 4 comes with a different Pirelli tire in the US compared to Canada )
Of course, there is also the possibility I was just wrong : 😅 :)
