I enjoy my Sirius XM subscription. I buy it by the year.

The 40’s channel is my standard selection. I also play it in the house through my iPhone blue tooth connection with a wireless sound system.

Sometimes I just play it through my iPhone while it’s in my shirt pocket, like when I’m sitting outside on the patio having morning coffee and watching my two mini poodles chase around and have their zoomies.

My wife enjoys Sirius XM too. Plays different oldies from 70’s and 80’s.

My son, a full-time college student enjoys his Sirius too. He loves classical and my 40’s station.

Sirius XM is a good thing in our house and vehicles.
What are you paying by the year? My girlfriend (she's over 70) got her yearly renewal and it was $284 or $287 for the year. I don;t recall but it was a $60 jump from last year. She said that was too much. I said "no problem." Went online, opened the chat window said I would like to cancel due to the high cost. I had to put in the radio ID and Sirius came back with $8/month. I said "okay".

Weird. My radio goes back to what it was playing last. Unfortunately, if it was last playing Apple Music and I'm not quick enough to plug my phone in, it'll kick on the FM radio. I've never had it autotune to Sirius XM or even advertise it is there. None of the Escape, Maverick, Explorer, and Expedition behaved as you described.
As I tried to point out, the issue almost certainly was that I was nearing the end of my free trial subscription and SiriusXM (with Ford's willing cooperation) intended to badger me into paying them money to extend it. There is no mystery about the intended purpose af adware/nagware no matter venue it appears in.

Mine was doing that *most* of the time. But occasionally when I first started the truck, it would go to SiriusXM. As my trial period drew to a close, "occasionally" became more and more frequent until, as I wrote, on the final day it went SiriusXM and made it nearly impossible to get back to my USB drive source. Even the "home" key wouldn't allow me to return to the source selection, it just split the screen between the SiriusXM app and asking me if I wanted to connect my phone).

It is really simple to go online and let Sirius know you do not want it. Ford HAS NOTHING to do with Sirius trying to keep you s a customer. I personally have had Sirius since 2011 and love it. But to each his own. You also could try using the universal delete tool.
You cannot friggin be serious with that remark about Ford having nothing to do with this issue. Who provided the bandwidth and the display for SiriusXM to bug the crap out of me? And, in case you had difficulty reading my post, I am not RENEWING anything, the SiriusXM trial subscription was in place when I drove my new truck off of the Ford dealer's lot. If I had the option to make it go away immediately after, I would have done so. And exactly what would I need to do to "go online and let Sirius know I do not want it." I have never given SiriusXM any personal information. Do they have my VIN on record to use to process my cancellation, or did FORD give them my info? In either case, once again FORD is implicated.

Other comments are usually the last box on all surveys.
I found it. I bashed their SiriusXM shenanigans twice: in the 2nd box that asked what I disliked about my Ford; and that final box you mentioned.

I like Sirius, I was expecting a discount offer when the trial expired but didnt get one. I did however get an offer on my 10 year old Mustang for $3 per month. It includes the streaming app which works perfectly through Android Auto. It also Bluetooths nicely to my Jeep so now I can listen in any of my vehicles plus at home.

I like my flash drive for playing music. I also have the same music on iPhone, about 10K songs. I like that I can play a list by Genre, artist, albums, or customize my own playlist. Play alphabetical by song, album, etc. Shuffle is my favorite, can be set to shuffle by artist, song, album. Great to go from Led Zeppelin to Merle Haggard! The CarPlay app opens to the screen on the Maverick and is easy to use, just a couple taps on the screen. Easy-peasy and cost is zero. Too many commercials on FM/AM and even on Sirius. I don't do commercials.
Thank you. I'm very happy for the people here who just love their SiriusXM, and its programming. That may be fine for them, but it's not what I want (and it's MY truck now, not Ford's). I have my own audio files that I have collected over many years according to my own tastes and criteria, and that is what I choose to listen to when I drive, not some playlist that was put together by an Asian teenager (or worse by some AI bot) that consists of a semi-random collection chosen from the universe of songs that are guaranteed never to offend anyone. A few decades ago that concept earned the derisive term "elevator music". It isn't the same music today, but it is pretty much the same idea.

I do think that the person who suggested this might have happened because the Infotainment system was slow to recognize my USB drive might be on the right track, but that still doesn't completely explain why it would always defaut to SiriusXM in that case. A few times I had tuned to AM or FM just to see what was available, but I never deliberately selected SiriusXM. For it to always select SiriusXM and never select AM or FM if it didn't immediately see the USB drive would be one helluva coinky-dink.

The problem with that is in order to log into the account, he would have to accept the Sirius terms of service. Which no doubt includes personal info and gives them the right to market to to OP.

I’ve run into a similar situation with my Ford account. Over a year ago, when logging in to my Ford account using my desktop computer, Ford demanded that I accept the Ford mobile app TOS.
https://www.ford.com/myaccount/account-dashboard

I’ve never installed the app and I won’t agree to the phone app TOS. When I decline the mobile app TOS, it dumps me back to the Ford account log in page. Now I no longer have access to the Ford account that I previously opened.

FYI =
Yes, Ford has a long-standing business relationship with SiriusXM where they factory-install the hardware. While specific financial terms of their deals are generally not disclosed, such partnerships typically involve revenue-sharing, incentives, or marketing payments from SiriusXM to the automaker for installing the hardware and facilitating subscriptions.
Automotive News +4
Here are the details regarding Ford and SiriusXM:
  • Factory-Installed Deals: Ford has agreements to make SiriusXM a factory-installed option or standard equipment on many vehicles, often offering a 3-month or 6-month trial subscription.
  • Dealer Incentives: In addition to factory installs, Ford dealers may get incentives to install SiriusXM as an accessory, particularly if the vehicle was not equipped with it at the factory.
  • Trial Subscriptions: When Ford installs the radio and includes a trial subscription, they are facilitating customer acquisition for SiriusXM, for which the automakers are typically compensated.

What are you paying by the year? My girlfriend (she's over 70) got her yearly renewal and it was $284 or $287 for the year. I don't recall but it was a $60 jump from last year. OUCH !!!! Bet Sirius/XM loved her for paying that much. 😧 We currently have two vehicles subscribed and are only paying $3/month for a locked in 36 month contract. That's $6/month or $72/year for TWO vehicles. In two years when the contract expires we'll likely cancel.

My 2025 XL came with a free trial of SiriusXM, which I have not, used and never intended to use. As the trial end (which just now passed) approached, the SiriusXM marketing BS "presented" to me on the infotainment display became ever more insistent and obnoxious. Earlier today I actually had to find a place to pull over to figure out how to get the audio source switched back to my own local stored music source. At this point, I am thoroughly disgusted with SiriusXM and with Ford for constantly shoving this cr@p in my face. I very much want to sh1tc@n the SiriusXM app. What do I need to do to remove it? If that isn't possible, how can I disable it so that is guaranteed never to start up again on its own. Thanks.
I’m right there with you. I listened to Sirius until the free expired and did not sign up. Not worth it to me.

I do enjoy listening to Bluegrass Junction station from the iHeart Radio app bluetoothed from my iphone. (free and zero commercials from them).
IHeart Radio is going to have whatever you want to listen to available.

727 is the ACM 7D0 is the APIM. These are only 100% accurate for the XL, the Lariat might have a different default value. If you run into this, post what you got and we can cross it over correctly.
I have a 2025 Lariat Hybrid. While my values were slightly different making the changes mentioned removed the Sirius tab from sources.

ACM

727-01-01 3017 30F6 009D

APIM

7D0-01-01 A081 2800 BCDE
7D0-01-03 42A2 00A5 0C70

Sirius is something I’ll never use.

Thanks.

My beef with Ford is that they make decisions that they think everyone out there wants it that way. My Maverick.Infotainment system still has a mind of its own and it will play whatever it wants to play and makes it difficult to get back to where you were.

I am leaving SiriusXM for a different reason. It seems like I have a 90% chance of starting XM with a commercial only to then wait a couple of minutes for another commercial, who needs this?
The only channels that have commercials are news and talk. The music channels I listen to have no commercials.

Ford installed a satellite capable radio because the MAJORITY of buyers want it. Yes they have your vin and radio ID on record because you had a free subscription. You could have contacted Sirius ONLINE and cancelled the day you bought it. A little work on your part would be less than all your bitching about it. As a matter of fact you could have stopped this quicker than creating the thread to bitch. Sorry life sucks for you. It's whipped cream and cherries for me. See the universal delete tool! I guarantee you will never see another ad from Sirius!
