My 2025 XL came with a free trial of SiriusXM, which I have not, used and never intended to use. As the trial end (which just now passed) approached, the SiriusXM marketing BS "presented" to me on the infotainment display became ever more insistent and obnoxious. Earlier today I actually had to find a place to pull over to figure out how to get the audio source switched back to my own local stored music source. At this point, I am thoroughly disgusted with SiriusXM and with Ford for constantly shoving this cr@p in my face. I very much want to sh1tc@n the SiriusXM app. What do I need to do to remove it? If that isn't possible, how can I disable it so that is guaranteed never to start up again on its own. Thanks.
Tune to AM/FM before turning off the truck. I assume it doesn't recognize the USB input right away so defaults to the last used radio channel instead. You may have clicked on it accidentally with the notifications.

What's odd to me is that my 24 XLT Hybrid radio does not have the pre-installed Sirius tuner that allows you to access Sirius and the only workaround I could think of was to play it through my phone. Any idea why Ford would not install this since they included all the Sirius literature with the owner's manual.

Sirius works great for me as I have just one reachable prerecorded same fifty bullshit pop songs channel in these mountains.
Satellite’s are easy to catch, all above me, duh.

It was $10 a month, just went up to $12.80
I like it,
Got all my old rock stuff,

Cassette era,
Classic,
Hair Nation,
Ozzy’s bone yard,
The Dead.
70,80,90 crappy pop music is fun sometimes,
I like my classical,
Country depresses me, when I need it.
Metallica, and five or six other channels I like.
Am paying $6.06 for Sirius... Don't use locally as I have one FM station I like. But on the road I use Sirius... 80's on 8. lol

My beef with Ford is that they make decisions that they think everyone out there wants it that way. My Maverick.Infotainment system still has a mind of its own and it will play whatever it wants to play and makes it difficult to get back to where you were.

I am leaving SiriusXM for a different reason. It seems like I have a 90% chance of starting XM with a commercial only to then wait a couple of minutes for another commercial, who needs this?

You can get XM radio on the XL now? Awesome.

Not really that odd. They didn't put SXM in XL/XLTs because $$. It's in the owner's manual because there is only one manual to cover everything, including the Ecoboost engine, trailer brake controller, and other things you may not have. It'd be prohibitively time-consuming to create a bespoke manual for every possible iteration of Maverick.

Edit: I use the SXM app as well. I actually prefer streaming that way since it is cheaper than the in-car plans, and it is well-integrated with CarPlay. I can tolerate the rare instance when I don't have a cellular signal.

On my '25 XL I have it, but none of the problems the OP reports.
I suspect the issue is not switching his source, as the vehicle continues with whatever was active when the truck was shut down. Setting it to a broadcast radio station should do it.

I've never received a communication in the truck about my XM subscription expiring, but I did get an email that allowed me to opt in for 3 months of radio for $2, so two bucks, 90 days... why not.

The rate to continue after the three months is $10 a month, but what it will be when I cancel it.
Subscription services will typically substantially lower their price if you attempt to drop them, as long as there is no active contract, but that usually works better on the phone.

What modules are these in?
727 is the ACM 7D0 is the APIM. These are only 100% accurate for the XL, the Lariat might have a different default value. If you run into this, post what you got and we can cross it over correctly.

Sirius chips were constrained for the 24 production and were not available. Somebody (at Sirius?) didn't order early enough to get production scheduled???
ETA: There was a fire that destroyed some chip production along with increased demand for kitchen gadgets, etc.....

Nope. I set source to inserted USB flash drive and leave it. But Ford keeps switching it back to try to get me to sign up for a paid subscription. I have a Ford survey on my satisfaction with the Maverick sitting in my email in-box. Boy do I hope they have an "other comments" section in that!
Same here. I assume the USB device driver doesn't respond fast enough and it jumps to a previous source, for me it's FM. That said, I don't think this has occurred since the last update.

I read somewhere that sirius would not show up if sirius was set to play channel 0 or maybe 1.

I like my flash drive for playing music. I also have the same music on iPhone, about 10K songs. I like that I can play a list by Genre, artist, albums, or customize my own playlist. Play alphabetical by song, album, etc. Shuffle is my favorite, can be set to shuffle by artist, song, album. Great to go from Led Zeppelin to Merle Haggard! The CarPlay app opens to the screen on the Maverick and is easy to use, just a couple taps on the screen. Easy-peasy and cost is zero. Too many commercials on FM/AM and even on Sirius. I don't do commercials.

Like the OP, I never used it and didn't want it. I never got any ads on my Infotainment system for it, though. I also don't want AM/FM. I use my phone and usually listen to audio books. Occasionally, I will use YouTube Music, all wirelessly. I used the USB back on my 2014 F-150 and many times it would blast out FM, because it wouldn't start the USB. Even now, sometimes it won't go into AA, but a tap on it usually loads it up. If I am listening to a book in the house and my wife takes the truck, it will stop and try switching to AA.

My trial has not expired yet, but I am now wondering if every instance of XM forcing itself on me has been a knocked button, because usually I am knocking it off FM onto AM by accident.

So yeah if it gets really naggy when the trial expires I am going to want it off with a capital O.

I didn't want their ewaste in my truck in the first place, but there's no way to order a Lariat like that.

I listen to FM for a good flow in the mix and local news and traffic in the area that I am in. XM is not capable of doing that. The song mixes have no flow, it's like listening to a strangers iPod on shuffle. If I wanted a computer to pick my track list, I'd load up my phone and put it on random, don't need to PAY for that shit, don't need that shit in my truck wasting $10 worth of energy yearly.
