z would not exceed the factory recommended weight limits.
Take a look at either the Sunlite 14THX, Coleman 13t or the Modern Buggy Hopper 2. They are all three more or less the same and are small toy haulers with two beds (1fold out tent with a bed and a Murphy bed). Plenty of space to haul all of your gears, motorcycle. etc. and has a wet bath.

You can slightly expand this list with the Go-Lite Boulderback. It is contract made for Bishs's RV by Sunlite. The 2027 model BB will be changing interior layout to the same seen in the current Hopper 2, while the early models are the same as the Sunlite 14THX.

Curiously, all of these options have the EXACT same overall length, so they must all be using the same basic chassis. I don't know who the originator of that chassis is, but the first model of these that I saw on the market was the Sunlite.

I like the Hopper 2 the most of these 4 options, because of the Azdel interior and exterior walls. That eliminates worrying about rotting wood in the future. Supposedly Azdel is a pretty good insulator, too. The bathroom is also much bigger. The bathroom door is also a retractable slider, versus a swinging door, so you can still access it even if you have the interior loaded up with toys. I doubt you could do that with the other 3.

While I like the idea of the pop-out tent bed, the reality of it is that it will let in so much noise and heat/cold when open. It also adds 180lbs to the overall weight, so omitting it could almost "pay" for a full tank of fresh water for the same overall weight. The toy I want to put on the inside is a Rush SR1, which will completely take up the inside garage area and most of the GVWR, so any weight dropped would be valuable in my use case. I would still have the difficulty of having to leave that SR1 outside to be able to sleep inside the trailer while on the way to any track days. Anyways, the only model of these 4 that I have seen that can be optioned without the tent bed in the Sunlite, so I might be forced into that model for that reason alone.

Another plus for the Sunlite is that it can be ordered from the factory with a rear ramp door patio kit and rear awning. I have not seen that option for any of the others. That is a huge quality-of-life upgrade for such a small trailer.

I don't know why the RV industry keeps trending towards such overweight pigs... unless the answer is as simple as that Warren Buffet owns most of the RV industry and also chains of gas stations.

Case in point, trailer I was looking at the other day, the 2003 model, weighs 3090lb empty, 2025 model, same layout, can't tell it's got many extra bells and whistles, 4300lb empty.

Some of the "starter" models are stupid, 3300lb 17 footers that have 500lb payload, and that's 450 on the hitch and a 3500 axle, ewww.

Taylor Coach can build you a 2500lb 25 footer, but there's an 18 month waiting list last I heard.

Buy a bigger truck
Yup, exactly!

There are 11 different trucks out there that would be suitable for towing 5k or more.

Why do people buy Mavericks and then want to do more with them than they are designed to to? It’s so strange.

I guess the succinct answer to towing a trailer considerably too heavy for a vehicle is:
Can you? Yes, with considerable risk.
Should you? No, because there are better options.

So 5K empty, not telling what loaded up with supplies, accessories, etc. Probably bought the wrong truck for that....
Totally. The way to do it is to buy the RV and then size the truck to it than the other way around.

Yes, you are absolutely correct. Forgot about the Go-Lite. Prefer the Hopper2 as well due to its construction and the better bathroom but don't like the placement of the bed. The Sunlite's patio is a really nice option but just not convinced about their built quality. Some of their details are just sloppy. The walls in the bathroom are also not waterproof on the Sunlite as well as the Go-Lite. Go figure.
This trailer would be ideal for me as I would only put my Africa Twin or my TW200 in there and gives us plenty of space with our 2 dogs. Most other trailers the Maverick can pull are quite tight inside if you have two big dogs.

Excessive trailer weight can exceed the braking capacity of the vehicle, making it difficult to stop and may result in a jackknife and loss of control. To avoid the danger, get a proper-sized trailer or a bigger truck that is rated for the trailer or totally replace the brake system and beef up the power train with non-Ford parts kissing any warranty goodbye.

Euro Escapes with a 60mph towing speed limit were getting rated at 3500 before the HF55 transmission upgrades, so IDK if you can expect a similar boost over American figures at 60mph with the beefed up transmission. There hasn't been that long to test the ultimate durability and limitations of it.
Durability of the transmission isn't the limiting factor, the motors are, and they simply de-rate when they over heat.

And travel trailers suck extra special compared to boats (even heavier ones), and even empty cargo trailers. Not sure why, but they just have extra sway in any wind.

ETA: I double-checked that the OP had a hybrid after posting, the above applies to hybrid only. 8F35, well, I'm biased so I'll say it's made of glass. :p
