I have always driven a full sized 8' bed, standard cab PU. You know a "Real" PU. Starting with a 69 F100 power nothing 3 on the tree, to my current RAM 1500 tradesman. I first heard about mavericks back in 2022 and thought, who would ever want one. It's not a "real" truck. Well fast forward to 2025. I am older and getting into the bed of the RAM for hauling little things like mulch, etc is getting to be a chore. My labs are also getting on in years and I was tired of the dog hair in the cab. I went and looked at the little trucklet and really fell in love with it. I got a 24 XLT Lux hybrid and put an A.R.E. Topper on it. It is a great dog hauler for my labs. Trips to the garden supply for mulch is not a problem. Surprisingly trips to the lumber yard is also a non issue! All that and 44 MPG is a far cry from the 17 on the RAM. Really changed my definition of what a "REAL" truck is. I still have my Ram, but it is now delegated to dump runs and getting loads of dirt or gravel.

Ford did a great job. It looks like a truck, hauls like a truck. Easy to get into the cab and the bed. And did I mention the MPG? All that for less than 30K when I got mine. Was an easy choice.

Agree! Let's try and be kind to each other in our comments. Remember we all have the same interest in the Maverick truck.

Before last fall I had no idea the Maverick PU existed until I learned of it from a friend that has one . I began searching every dealer in NJ for a Hybrid Lariat and NO ONE had one. Plenty of XLs & XLTs on the lots. Several tried to talk me into ordering the Lariat or getting an XLT but I wanted the (IMHO) better trim package before Christmas. I ended up finding what I wanted in PA. Made a couple phone calls and 4 days later, drove home in a Ruby Red Lariat Hybrid. So far, I think I made the right choice.

I must have been living under a rock these last few years but until a month ago I never heard of the Maverick PU. Sure I heard of the Maverick car of the 70s but not this. I've been driving a Ram1500 Laramie Crew Cab w/6'4" bed for the past ten years. Since I no longer really needed something so large that averaged around 12 mph (99% local driving) I started looking for something with good fuel economy. Searching for options I came across the hybrid Maverick and it was love lol. This does everything I need in a very efficient and practical way. 3 weeks later I bought a 2025 XLT hybrid w/co-pilot, lux package in Ruby Red metallic. My RAM drove like the Mercedes Ml suv I traded in for it and still did 10 years later. The Maverick doesn't drive quite as smoothly but I have no complaints with how it drives. So happy I found it and the board.
I hadn't heard of the Maverick until 2024 I ordered the 2025 Hybrid, for me being shorter I liked the fact the Maverick was lower to the ground

CONGRATS! I heard about them in December 2021 and ordered one and got it May 2022 and took it to Ohio with my dog on vacation. YES i am still in love, however DON'T remember
Don't feel bad, until mid last year I had no idea either.
I saw one on the interstate and thought - Just what I've been looking for... then they started showing up all over the place.

Up until a few months ago I never saw one in an add either, but that was after I bought mine in November.

Welcome to the forum and the less frequent need to visit a gas station!

Once you get used to driving the hybrid (I suggest you enable the hybrid coach) you will really notice a difference in how much travel you get on electric by letting the car regenerate instead of using brake pads. The coach gives you a rating on each stop, and I get 100% charge back on most stops.

Enjoy the ride.
Thank you for the congrats and tips. I found out they exist when doing a search for hybrid vehicles for sale. In the month I become aware of them I've still only seen 3 so far. I'm sure they're plenty around and I'll likely start spotting them more frequently. Hard to imagine I don't with the sale numbers.

Thank you I appreciate your kind words. I was surprised by one of the early responses but that was quickly overshadowed by so many well intended replies.

Before I retired, I drove an F 250 For many years at work as well as a box truck and a 30000 GRVW stake body. I had had my fill of big and all of the hassles accompanying that. When I retired I went small. First I inherited a Chevy s 10. Drove that until the body pan rusted out and left the driver's seat sitting in the driveway. So I went car shopping but with limited means ($) I know it would be a challange. After much research I headed into my local ford dealership with an ultimatum. I can spend this much and this is what I want. Thinking I was settling i was taken out on the lot where the Mavericks were sitting. Size was right, price was almost right so I went for a test drive. Settle my eye! I was in love. I think my salesman saw that I wanted the truck so he want to work on the numbers. I got all the truck i wanted for the price I could pay. Just turned over 10,000 miles. No issues, no worries and I am loving everything about my truck.

I love a story with a happy ending and I'm glad to also have such an ending 👍

My brother “loves” my Mav. He’s a car collector so he heard the name “Maverick” and had a totally different reaction (not a positive one). He “thinks” he had never seen one… but now that he is very interested, he sees them all the time.
Ask him what he thinks of my "Grabber...

Not necessarily - if you weren't looking specifically for it, you might've seen a few in your travels and dismissed it as a Ranger since it looks like a conventional pickup truck....
You can always spot a maverick by it's off center rear license plate. Just check any auto parts store, every one has at least 1 maverick delivery wagon.
