A small tarp will cover your windshield and the well. Harbor freight sells them for under $4.
I use remote start to clear windshield but removing ice around wiper arms is a tough spot to get cleaned up even after a short warm up.

I tried to keep the snow out of the well. Now I before I go to work I get my battery powered leaf blower out and blow the snow out of the well! The blower has a turbo button to get heavier wet snow off the windshield and the rest of the truck. Works great!

We just got over a foot of snow and sleet mix, my leafblower was great at keeping the wiper well clear. I'd imagine a strong air duster like the Wolfbox would be pretty useful here as well. A watering can full of cold tap water will also quickly refresh the area... or some spray ice-melter if it's extremely cold out.

this is my first truck so maybe this is a common truck thing. normally my mav is parked in a garage but the other day it actually got snowed on. when I went to clean the snow out of this area I realized I'd have to slide the wipers up the windshield a little bit to flip them up. weird! Hopefully this isn't bad to do.

so far cherokee's suggestion is what I would consider. while a cheap tarp would work I'd want something designed to do this job so that it fits well and so it's less likely to damage the paint on the truck.

This is a new found problem for me. I’m in Syracuse area, and we’ve gotten a lot of snow and frigid temps. My wipers suddenly began “resting” at a higher spot. Upon searching online for potential causes, I started with the obvious.
Holy crap the amount of snow and ice chunks (and blue from washer fluid) I pulled out of the was astounding.
And what do you know, my wipers are resting normal.

Earlier this week I found that the snow/ice/slush is easy to remove if you can raise the hood. I know that's not always possible in bad weather, but I get the "Remote features disabled. .." message a lot and and was raising the hood to attach my NOCO charger anyway.

Update: more snow, so took a picture to add. Just be careful not to dump snow into the engine bay.

Most vehicles (don't own a Mav yet) have the ability to park them with the wipers at a partial arc. A recent rental for example you'd shut the car off and within 20 secs pull on the wiper stalk and they'd set them selves at about 50% wipe so you could get them up off the glass when expecting snow/ice.

Have a question but not sure what to call the area that the wiper arms sit in but that cavity fills with snow and ice. Is there a cover made that would lay over the wiper arms and prevent that build up? I purcahse a windshield cover I thought would do the job but the wind made it useless.
This one works well for me. The straps hold it down so it stays in place over the cavity. I'm in Maine fwiw.

All these stories are helpful. I think that setting my wipers to a parked position and keeping a can of deicer for ice/packed snow that accumulates around wiper arms is what I'll do while I checkout the noodle project.

That is what I tried only whithout the strap. Was afraid of paint scuff on the finish over time. Bet you get some hefty winds in Maine I see 20 to 30 mph winds here in NW Missouri about twice a week.

This is my second winter using this. No issues with paint scratches so far. The straps seem to secure it well so it doesn't move around to scratch anything.

Mavericks do. The problem is you have to choose between parking the wipers up and remote starting. IE: you can either scrape the windshield *OR* preheat the vehicle. Where I live making that choice for the next morning is pretty tricky the night before.

Yikes. That kinda sucks. With the other vehicles I've tried it on you have to reengage the wipers using the stalk before they'll move again.

The maverick slams them down at startup whether you've manually pulled them up or "parked" them in the service position. So if there's something blocking their path or they are frozen to the windshield you may have damaged them.

Worse, if you've pulled them away from the window, at startup you chip the hood paint as the wiper arms smash into the hood.

Mind-bogglingly stupid design

My 2025 remote starts with the wipers up no problem, they stay put. If you get in and actually start it they'll try to wipe.
