Well, as that's 2 sizes larger than spec for the hybrid mentioned - it better have better stats!

It's been years since I think my mom's Everstart had a problem - they swapped it right out no questions, and I recall it really should have been pro-rated - but maybe the counter person didn't know how to do that.
So even if there was some hassle involved or little pro-rating - still better in person being able to confirm a certain store has the correct size, and just getting the old one there.

Heh - you'll either put a charge on it monthly to make it last longer.
Or get to find out just how well their warranty program works.

I'll bet by the 2nd warranty replacement - they ask how many sessions of dancing in the streets are you supporting with radio blaring and doors open!

Incorrect.

Deep Sleep Mode is NOT battery saving mode.

You could count it as a final step of battery saving mode if you wanted to. But what Lou said was completely accurate and possible. Fordpass app was changed at some point to include DSM as an extension of battery saver. But it also alerts about battery saver with no DSM alert.

Deep Sleep Mode is when the modem is turned off - and you are alerted that obviously remote access is disabled now. That is IT.

You described the battery saving functions - which may NEVER get to DSM level.
Include passenger keyless entry sensor too.

Last winter on a battery that hovered around 45% Ford SOC scale, and 11.8 V, had max battery saving mode on.
Lights off on door open when exiting, and on door close on entry almost immediately.

But I never once had DSM alert. Actually never had battery saving alert either, but I think that it's Lariat that warns on that.

There is a battery saving mode option? I installed an AGM battery and use a solar trickle charger. got tired of the deep sleep mode constsantly.

That's encouraging news. The last time I checked, the Costco near me did not carry an H4. I believe the OEM battery has a vent tube out thru the floor. I wonder how many AGM replacements have this feature, and whether it's worth the trouble.

I tried a flooded battery first ,then the AGM they both had the vent hole , no problem the tube just sticks in.

There is a battery saving mode when V hits 12.1.
Activated automatically - not manually.

You may never be around the truck or sitting waiting in the truck to notice lights turning off earlier and earlier - until it gets rather short and your normal routine doesn't get the light you were used to. Also if not dark when it happens, may take until winter to notice.
At that point V is lower, and if you have keyless entry may notice the passenger sensor isn't turned on.
Power points off immediately on door open to exit after parking.

If excessive battery drain is detected, the system temporarily disables some electrical systems to protect the battery.
Systems included are:

• Heated rear window.
• Heated seats.
• Climate control.
• Heated steering wheel.

• Navigation system.

A message could appear in the information display to alert you that battery protection actions are active. This message is only for notification that an action is taking place, and not intended to indicate an electrical problem or that the battery requires replacement.

FYI...Costco will also ship you an AGM since they are sealed. I did that with my vehicle before the Maverick (Mazda CX5 Turbo). Swapped it out and took the core to the store.

BTW my 24 Eco also came with an AGM

I'm wondering whether others were like me - unaware that the Hybrid's 12V battery isn't used to start the vehicle, and for that matter the Hybrid doesn't even have a traditional starter.

My '23 XLT Hydrid suffered from the deep sleep/battery saving mode issue for a long time before I finally replaced the 12V OEM flooded cell battery with a 12V AGM. Laughably the dealer's response had been that I "just needed to drive it more".

I was considering one of the off-brand AGMs from Amazon, but came across an ONLINE-ONLY AGM replacement from Walmart that struck me as perhaps being an unbeatable deal for only $94.92. Everstart Premium Platinum AGM, (huge) FOUR-YEAR free replacement warranty, free shipping, etc.

The Walmart online listing states free installation, so that's probably available for any who need it.

If installing yourself, be sure to perform the easy Battery Monitoring System (BMS) reset procedure after installing. If not done, I believe the Maverick will be "unaware" there's a new battery and you'll continue to have the deep sleep/battery saving mode problem.

This new AGM has worked flawlessly since I installed it myself in November. Again, the 12V battery is not used for starting the motor, but my Maverick started and performed perfectly this morning when the outdoor temperature was 6 degrees.

For some reason there is no photo on Walmart's online listing, so here are photos of exactly what I received.

There were some minor typos/discrepancies in Walmart's online listing, so I wasn't 100% sure it would be exactly as hoped, but happily it was. As I encountered elsewhere, online INCORRECTLY indicates that this battery will not fit my '23 XLT Hybrid. I've run into this issue elsewhere and my guess is that there are sites that fail to accurately differentiate between Maverick Hybrid vs non-Hybrid. This AGM in fact turned out to be a perfect fit for my Hybrid.

Concerning this AGM's 535 Cold Cranking Amps rating, that's considerably more than the OEM flooded cell battery. I did see that some other AGMs (like the off-brands on Amazon) claim more than 535CCAs, but I wonder how accurate these "as much as" CCA ratings are and considering the battery isn't used for starting the Hybrid I'm totally satisfied with the 535CCA rating and didn't fixate on that difference.

More importantly, I saw perhaps no others with the 4-year Free Replacement, and if there is a problem, I viewed the ease of potentially dealing with my local Walmart to be a huge plus.
