Oh man, looking back on this 3 years later. I think there are a few things I'd liked changed, 1. QC, 2. QC, 3. QC. 4. Area 51 paint, it looks so good in person. I love the Cactus Grey on my Maverick, but oh I like Area 51 too.

I went XLT, but without the Lux package. It’s tempting - I like the power in the bed and behind the console - but wouldn’t get a lot of use out of heated seats and wheel here in the Deep South. Still, it was tempting. (Not $1850 or so tempting. But at a different price point I’d consider it.)

Funny...I always wanted a jeep for the open air (until the new bronco maybe, nothing beats a jeep for open air), but ended up with several Ford trucks (including the current Mav) with sunroofs and back slider instead😉.
I agree that nothing beats a Jeep for open air, especially when they leave you on the side of the road. Then you will have a lot of open air.
If I could go back to June 9, 2021 I would keep scrolling past the Maverick launch video on YouTube until I found some funny cats to watch, and I would have never ordered one of these trucks at all.
If you never had ordered a Maverick, you would not have experienced the incredible long wait time to receive one.

I thought the cyber orange looked southwestern 😂
But if it had originated here, we would have called it "taco drippings" . . .

🤪

I bought the Lux in Honolulu and now live in High desert New Mexico-the heated seats, the heated steering wheel and EVEN the heater are now a godsend 😂

Current color: Absolute Black
To color: Cactus Grey

I would have gotten the XLT with BAP.

If I could order all over again, I wouldn't change a thing about the truck, but then I didn't "order" it in the first place. I would change getting my financing set up first, but I wasn't actually planning on buying the truck that day.

I had been doing some research online so I knew what I wanted to look at, but I wasn't all that hopeful, as I could not find what I was looking for anywhere online.
Apparently the XL AWD hybrids with the 4K tow package were hen teeth rare.

Did a test drive with a friend in an XLT hybrid AWD, but since I didn't want push to start, the XL was the only way to avoid that. Transponder keyed ignitions are much more secure IMHO, and I like the switchblade key on the Mav, but the dealer only had XL EB's.

The XL AWD Hybrid with the 4K tow included power mirrors and Co-Pilot, so about the only thing significantly different between XL and XLT was the ability to get the LUX package, which I didn't want, the upgraded interior, which I didn't prefer, and the upgraded wheels which I could easily change myself. The XLT therefore wasn't worth the premium to me. I also prefer the XL interior colors on the Carbonized Grey version.

Told the salesman exactly what I wanted. He found it in the color I wanted while I was looking over the inventory in the lot.
My truck had been just built and it landed at the another dealer's lot that day.
I got the out the door price quoted which didn't change, with none of the typical add ons.

What took the longest was the financing. It was available to be picked up 2 days later.

Moral of the story - Timing. One day later and it could have been someone else's truck.

I like my 23 XLT hybrid just the way I ordered it. Only thing I should have done was get the Alto Blue. Seems to be a pretty rare color. I do like my Area51 though :) The reason I didn't order Alto Blue is because I have 2 dark blue cars, 1967 Shelby GT500, Nightmist Blue and a 2016 Honda HRV, Morpho Blue Pearl.

MIne was one HOUR later, and it was the morning after a snowstorm. People came in right after my test drive and were crushed since it was the only hybrid Lariat they had. Luckily, the dealer's policy was that it was mine until I declined it. I didn't.

Would have not ordered the engine block heater. Recalled and no parts available. Could have saved $100.

Amazing how those wheel arches make the tires look twice as wide... 😉
