My local Discount Tire guy offered to hook me up with black lug nuts for $50ish. I thought about it, but ultimately decided I liked it the way it was.

Maybe it's because I have a grey Mav with the BAP that I find the the chrome lug nuts to be so discordant.

I have some McGard ones. Very expensive but very much worth it, the finish is very resistant to damage.

Yours didn't come with black valve stem caps? Weird, mine did. Were they green? I know some dealers just love to put pure nitrogen in new vehicles tires and charge for it. That's the only time I've seen caps that were not black from the factory on a vehicle.

Black plastic caps came with it, I bought black anodized aluminum caps with plastic liners.

Replace the factory 2 piece lug nuts with a 1 piece aftermarket one, whatever color you want. Over time the 2 piece one's are known to seize up

I'm not sure that "seize up" is the correct description. I've had them swell so much that you could no longer get a 13/16" (21mm) socket on them.

Yes on both accounts.
I had spun the chrome off a set and had to mangle it off to get to the lugs under them.
They do swell too and it’s never to a correct size either.
Best play is to swap them early.

I found a great way to protect my stock nuts from winter corrosion...

... I put them in a cardboard box under my back seat.

Meanwhile running cheapo etailer spline nuts. (Needed skinny to get down the holes in my winter rims)

My favorite is when someone blasts them with a torque wrench and then the next time you want to take it off manually It's too large. Then you can kind of work off the cover and put a smaller socket on it. Keep a couple In the glove box. $6 a piece. This happened with my 7-year-old fiesta. You could see somebody blasted the first one and then realized they had it set too high. All the rest were fine.
