Because of this thread I have been noticing how much chrome is on other vehicles, especially trucks.
Answer: A lot!

Unless they are are a murdered out all black truck, most have more chrome than I realized.

The Maverick has very little in comparison.

Very cool. How'd you black out the lock? Did you replace the badges with black chrome badges?

I used NiteShades spray tint for badges and lock
Doesn’t last forever but it’s been nearly a year and the tailgate badge has only faded slightly (and my truck lives outside)

I deleted the chrome on the u-shaped part of the steering wheel with this trim piece:

I wish I saw this a week ago! Love the gray/black overlay. I ordered the matte black and black overlay and now want the gray ones since my Maverick is carbonized gray. I’ll update once the stickers come in this week.

I'm doing the same thing. Have a gray Mav XLT so sticking with the black and gray look. I used a mate black paint in the thin outline of chrome on the steering wheel. Skill need to add my overlay to the front.

I used plastidip around the emblem on the tailgate and the xlt. Printed my own tailgate letters on my cricut. Not perfect, but MUCH cheaper and I can replace as needed.

Love the look! My wife has a cricut and I want to make some letters for my tail gate when my Mav arrives. What font and size settings did you use to make them?
