I went a different way. I initially tried the camera on the corner of my tonneau cover and liked the reduction of blind spot to the rear right.

Unfortunately with winter and snow I figured inside the rear window may be better but water on the window was also an issue.

I ordered a cheap angled drawer pull off Ali express to keep water off the window directly in front of the camera. I also ordered a second camera and cable for the (spring/summer) tonneau mount.

Sorry if I missed it, but how did you fish the wire to the back of the bed?

I ran the wires from the front of the cab to the rear of the back seat.

I removed the right rear wheel well plastic. It’s held in by several fasteners the pop off. This gives lots of work space. You can remove a few and bend it down as well. I was able to pinpoint a safe space to drill.

Initially I passed it through the vent that relieves air pressure for the doors to close but wanted something more permanent.

I drilled a small hole and passed the wiring through a rubberized grommet.

From there I ran the wire to the rear turn signal and fed it through. Only two screws hold in the turn signal then pull it outwards carefully. Allows you to see right into the wheel well.

Thanks for the write up. I have a G900 coming soon, (Thanks Wolfbox and forum members) and this has been very helpful for install ideas.

This post inspired me to buy one after Christmas. Been itching to do clean install, but, winter. Today spent probably 15 minutes doing an ugly temp install, as seeing the rear-view image was my main reason for buying.
Pics below.
Here are the thoughts I want to share:
  • 1.5"XPS used. Not rectangular: the top rear rail is ever so slightly curved. Will need slightly taller than 8" to account for this. Phone cam focused on deep field so blurry inside. Sorry.

  • Made marks with a hacksaw blade for rail fit. Very stable in rail so far. This will likely get me to March.

  • Not sure if this is the pic where cam is upside down. I rarely do things correctly on 1st try

  • Stock window tint. It makes a difference. I will definitely be copying outside install this spring. Getting window to stop halfway across lens was fun.

  • I'm 55 and getting more farsighted each year. When I look in my glass mirrors (including interior one prior to wolfbox), I focus on image behind truck just fine. When I look at wolfbox image, my eyes focus at screen distance from my face, so I squint. Major bummer, but I can deal. I have not removed the screen protector yet, so I'm hoping when it's off this spring, my eyes will focus as they do with glass. Even with this problem, I'm still glad to have it.

Great thread!! I want to get the Wolfbox G-930, a downscale version of the OP's.

Has anyone tried this particular model which has a 10" mirror with the Mav's 10.5" mirror? Just wondering if it would look OK. To be honest not really willing to spend the extra bucks for the more expensive models that have the 12" mirror. Thanx!!

The OEM bracket is the way to go for a stock look. Eliminates the stock mirror all together. No issues with vibrations.

I have the GS900 mirror sitting waiting to be installed I have delayed the installation honestly it seems to be a little intimidating since I want a very clean installation and planned to eliminate the original OEM mirror I guess I just need to dive in and hope for the best anyone have the link for the best YouTube video that would walk me through the entire process Step by Step?

Here are a couple of videos on install a dash cam on a Maverick. Second one shows the fuses to tap.

Run the wiring to the passenger side instead ending at the inside fuse panel.

Use fuse taps to power constant and acc wiring for the camera wiring.

this is a video install a dash cam on a Maverick.

Same wiring install applies minus the plastic housing removal above the mirror.

Run the wiring to the passenger side instead ending at the inside fuse panel.

Thank you Ryan 👍
