I also think the stock LED headlights are extremely good. Probably the best headlights I've ever had, and certainly with the easy mode auto high. Cringe at the thought of replacing one ($), but they do perform.

Seem to recall seeing a video on youtube awhile back of someone replacing non-LED tailight bulbs in a half ton Ford or Chevy pickup with aftermarket LEDs, then getting a huge bill when the lights shorted out a wiring harness deep in the truck that was denied warranty. Just seems like a gamble making any mods to the electrical system in modern vehicles that often ends badly.

Well it appears that I should have looked at the owner's manuals......... Duh? Per several sources that I googled, the projector vs reflector situation was as I posted. Sorry about that. After going back and looking, it turns out that the info I was reading was from after-market advertisers.(n) I may look at my 25 adjustment because I am certain my 22 reached out further.

Really like the convenience of the auto dim. However, there are quite a few times when I want the brights, after the vehicle dimmed for signs, bridge railings, and streetlights/merchant lights. Stay Safe!

Thanks to all who corrected my error. As I recall, this is my first screw-up since 1989!:lying::wink:

EDIT: Below URL from Ford shows changes on the 2025. Check out the changes on the headlights for Lariat, Lobo, and Tremor according to this from Ford. See exterior section.

You can turn off auto dim of headlights. Been awhile so not sure I remember but check the lever on left side of steering wheel.

Wonder if it is just an aiming issue for some people, I was very impressed with the headlights of mine. Especially when you really go out into the boonies. Driving in the desert at night and I could see everything.

I have a 2023 Lariat and have the first addition Mabett side marker orange leds (which really light up the road sides) and the diodes dynamics fog light which wired to always be on when the main headlights are on ...high or low beam...along with an off button. I also rewired the front turns so they are always on with the white led and flash orange when turning. Last thing added was the full led strip at the grill top. This all makes the truck look sharp and easily distinguishable by everyone I know.

One thing I noticed however that is not resolvable is the poor lighting that these headlights produce on the actual road surface. They light up the road signs and cars ahead but provide very little bright light on the road surface the first 75 or so feet in front of the vehicle which has the stock suspension. When I turn off the fog lights (which are amazing and provide light to the front and sides of the road!) I am shocked at how little the headlights actually light up the road. As I see other cars pass by their light output is measurably more than what I get out of this Maverick. I am sure the 24MY has the same issue but did they redesign the 25MY headlights? Not sure there is any solution for the model years up to 2024 at least. If you have any ideas let me know but I suspect the headlights are a completely sealed assembly.
I love the headlights on my 23 XLT...auto on, auto hi/low, and the best night vision coverage.

No complaints about the headlights on my 2024 Lariat. They may be a little less powerful than those on my previous car, but the difference is minimal.

It's in the dash settings menu somewhere. I totally blinded a bicyclist who was on a path alongside a 55 mph road shortly after getting the truck and disabled them immediately after. Still feel bad about that, can't believe auto high beams are legal even. No regard to anyone who might be near the road. We've got 100 years with manual high beam control, no reason to change it now.

We've had automatic high beams since the last century, more exactly the 50's.
Are they perfect? No.
Fortunately, IF you are watching the road, you still have the ability to dim the headlights manually.

For some that often carry a few hundred pounds or more In the bed they start singing the song,
“Headlights in the Sky~~”
Then they come In The forums and complain about the head lights.

Every pick up I’ve ever used as a truck, hauling stuff.
I chose to re-aim not complain.

Even at max load, the tail does not sag nearly as much as it does on other trucks. The headlights might move up maybe 2 degrees, but that's about it.
