Eh. The cost of the AGM (that completely fixed it for me) was paid for in a few months of savings in petrol. 25Kish on the clock and average 40.8 MPGs. Even the battery tender I bought as insurance has been more than paid for by now.

Remember that usually only people with issues post about them. The rest of us either never had a problem or fixed it with an AGM.

Personally glad I bought a hybrid and would likely have not even bought a Maverick if no hybrid option.
AND I spend half the time in the Costco gas line compared to the 2008 Ranger that got replaced by the Maverick. MPG was the #1 reason I bought the Hybrid. No hybrid no Maverick for me.✌

The only issue I have had since I purchased on April 3, 2025 was the first week of December. I flew to Florida for a week, returned to 20 degree weather and snow. Maverick had set outside for 7 days. The Ford app said remote features disabled , drive vehicle to enable. Truck started remotely with the key fob, no messages since. I have to guess it was due to not being started in 7 days that the app disabled remote start. I have no issue with Ford doing that. If my battery starts requiring a trickle charger every day or even once a week if it's being driven every few days, then this truck will become someone else's problem.
I have the battery sleep warning and my truck will not start using remote start key fob. I get a flashing red light on my fob. Spent the $170 for remote start and it does not work. Did when I first got my truck. I got my 23 on 10/19/23 it has less than 13,000 miles.

Hi all,

On a side note. I have finally bought my own ODDLINK EX connector (wired) and downloaded the Forscan software to my laptop. Let me first state that I know this isn't the place to discuss this, but it is related to the topic

Forscan is not, I repeat, not easy to use. Just getting the darn license to use it took several hours and attempts! Most suggestions on the internet kept telling me to copy and paste the license. Well guess what? Once you download every thing, there is NO OPTION TO CUT AND PASTE! I finally was able to locate someone in Finland who was having the same issue and he said to just leave the website, and reconnect and it should show up. Wow!! Next, you can forget thinking that you can learn how to use forscan via google, A.I. or even on the forscan website. Waaaaaayyyyy too much info about how to play with forscan and NOT enough postings on how to do one specific change.

In fact, this one guy who has too many videos on forscan only talks about what you are looking at once its hooked up! I know what the hell I am looking at! I was building my own computers before Windows 98 came out! Just show me step by step how to change the charging rate from 80% to 95%? And the shakey out of focus videos are worthless! Better off just cut and pasting the screens showing each step.

So, finally, after spending HOURS of scouring the internet and even here in our forum, I was able to cut and paste various suggestions on how to accomplish my goal of simply upping the charge rate. When I am done, I will do my best to just post how to do this one thing. It is the most relevent change for all of us. I could care less about changing how my times my horn honks when locking my doors. I want my battery charged properly no matter how little I drive the truck.

Sorry about the rant, but I feel you all can feel my pain..............
Please post when you get time. I haven’t bothered to do it after installed the AGM but would like to see if it’s worth my time! Thanks!

Perhaps you install an adjustable voltage limiter/stabilizer just before your positive 12v post? Also check your battery brand for it's recommend charge profile. I think I have seen as high as 13.85 (have not reviewed though). Was your agm fully charged and settled when you ran the 8 hour battery learn?
It’s the Motorcraft AGM that came with the truck. It’s one year old. Bought the truck on 12/31/24.
battery has never been disconnected.
I took a voltage check when I drove it home after it sat overnight, 12.42 vdc
And again after it sat for two weeks due to ice, 12.32 VDC.

When i got my EB Tremor which I sold to Carmax, I drove it straight home and put my noco 5g on it with 65 miles. It took 5 or 5.5 days before noco finished charging and optimising. Then I ran the new battery learn procedure. Only had it 5-6 months. Next time yours is going to sit for 1-2 weeks put maintainer on it then run the battery learn with truck locked.

Ok everyone! After literally scouring the internet and hitting every possible obsticle possible, I was able to change my charge settings to 95% Holy $#tt is was hard to do!

Here are some things I would do FIRST to help you save time:

1. Which ever adapter you choose to use, download every conceivable driver that your adapter is compatible to! If you don't, the adapter won't find your vehicle and/or your laptop! You'll keep trying to connect with no success! Trust me, download them all!

2. Start your vehicle without your foot on the brake and connect your laptop. DO NOT RUN FORSCAN YET!! Connect using which ever type of connection you have, (Wifi, Bluetooth or like me, USB cable) and run the OBD ONLY to make sure it sees your vehicle.

3. Now, if your are using the USB connected OBD device, leave it connect to your port in your vehicle and it to your laptop, but SHUT DOWN THE OBD SOFTWARE while you are connected! If you don't, when you run Forscan it will keep trying to reach your vehicle through the OBD software instead of straight through the USB cable. You'll keep getting messages that it cannot connect. Took me an hour to figure this one out!

4. Open Forscan. And Forscan should automatically connect. If it doesn't, click the connect button (it should be the little square at the very bottom left corner of the software screen). Down in the same area you should see the words "vehicle" and "Not Connected" with red squared indicators next to the words. When you click the connect button, the lights will turn green and your in!!

5. Now click on the computer chip in the far left column, 3rd from the bottom. At this point, I pray that you see "BdyCM Module Configuration", DON'T CLICK ON THE ONE THAT SAYS "AS BUILT format" if you do, this format is more for the auto tech novices out there! Click on the one that doesn't have the additional wording. Then, at the bottom left portion of the screen you see an icon that looks like a "play" button on a recording machine, click on it.............

6. Now another page will load up. Look for "BCM" (again, ignoring anything with "AS Built" next to it) Highlight this one and click the "play" button. Now you will see a column that states "battery" and next to that word you should see "AGM" (yeah folks, mine was set for AGM from the factory).

7. Now in my excitement, I think the next thing I did was highlight this column, pressed the play button, and the parameters at what percentage the charge is at comes up in a boxed window. All I did was change it from 80% to 95%, went down to the bottom of the screen where it says "Write new parameters" or "Write to save", clicked that button, it told me it was saved and got the hell outta dodge!!

Lastly, with my fully charge up battery, I did the battery sensor reset.

I sincerely hope this helps some else out there.

Can someone confirm the BMS reset procedure for a 2025 Maverick Hybrid?
"Close and lock doors, let truck sit undisturbed for 8 hours"?

MVP!

And for us complete idiots out here, you can download the software and get links for adapter here? Any you suggest over others?

Ok, so that’s battery out if circuit right ?
disconnect one terminal, + of course.

How long do I need to wait to hook up the new peaked AGM ?

And is that all there is to it ?

I just hook my noco to the jump pins with battery still connected. The noco charge and optimization cycles are designed for installed battery. (Battery disconnected is for RECOVERY FUNCTION). I leave hood up in my garage. You can on EB just use the pos terminal and body ground with battery connected. Since the locked truck takes 8 hours, I feel like it waits for an hour or so to let battery settle and finish it's normal stuff. I just take noco off and lock my truck. Good luck!

"Close and lock doors, let truck sit undisturbed for 8 hours"?
Lock doors and leave alone for 8 hours is the last step.

Do this:
1. Make sure battery is fully charged.
You have 30 seconds to complete steps 2, 3, and 4.
2. Key on engine off (accessory position). I think for push button it is tap the start button without foot on brake?
3. Flash high beams 5 times.
4. Pump brake pedal 3 times.
If successful, the brake warning light on the dashboard will flash 3 times.
5. Remove key, lock the doors and do not disturb for 8 hours.

Thanks for that. It does help.

I bought a laptop last week and I plan to do the same as you.

I’ve been reading about Forscan. It seems to be one of those things that is pretty simple once you know how, but getting started comes with a learning curve.

One thing I’ve read (so far I have yet to actually plug the laptop into the Maverick) is that it is prudent to back up a module before you make changes. And to make one change at a time.

Here is a too long 40 minute video. To those who already have Forscan installed and licensed, you can skip ahead and start at the 10 minute mark.

Here’s the Maverick specific spreadsheet that MTC member EONR24 and others put in a lot of time and effort.

Last, to anyone buying the one year license, get it from AKM software, not the other vendor. AKM sends out the activation code instantly. I’ve seen complaints that the other one can take days.

Just telling it like I see it on Here. I see a lot of Hybrid Related Problems compared to the 2.0 EB prove me wrong!!

Anyone else have a Battery Saver Mode unexpectedly on Christmas day? Must have been a “Merry Christmas” from Ford.🤬
I had mine installed a year ago and so far no deep sleep or battery saver mode except I couldn't schedule a remote start because of 'low power' mode. Must have been the cold weather. The truck starts up fine since the AGM install. I still carry a portable battery charger, though.
