So, a co-worker of mine recently purchased a used Ford Maverick since he was looking for a small truck and was very impressed with what I had to say about mine. So naturally, he started buying accessories for it. One of which was Maxzina rain guards that he installed with no issue. But, he was accidentally sent an extra set and decided to gift them to me. Last week, I attempted to install them myself, followed a tutorial from an Amazon video, got the driver front one installed step-by-step according to the video, went to go roll the window up which hits it and rolls back down. The portion that drapes over the interior side of the window doesn't clear and prevents the window from rolling up all the way. Naturally, that wasn't gonna fly.

Thankfully, this was as far as I got. I carefully uninstalled the one and only guard and wrapped it back up and put it back in the box. So my question is, what should I do with the set? I asked my coworker for their opinion and he said to simply toss it. But I'm thinking, "No, I don't want to do that. They're still perfectly fine." Just because it didn't work for me doesn't mean it won't work for somebody else. So, should I go to the trouble of selling them on the forum? Should I try to donate them to an auto parts store? Or, should I just throw them away? I would greatly appreciate some input since I'm not quite sure what to do with them.

Did you install the clips? See bottom left of the last photo below. I found the clips help keep the visor away from the window glass. I removed a different brand that would cause the window to roll back down. The clips were the cat meow to keep the visors on. If you did install the clips, how did you remove them? I installed mine in August without any problems since.

Yes, I did install the clips. When going to remove them, I very carefully finessed them out with the pry tool that comes with it.

I too bought them but didn't get to install before the cold weather. I can wait until spring. My PPF is also waiting for warmer weather.

I've never had any luck with the in-channel rain guards/vent deflectors or whatever you want to call them. Doesn't matter what video I watch or what clips I try to use they never seem to be secure and it always ends up with the window hitting them every time. I'm sure there are people who can do this and never have a problem but it ain't me! Lol always just stick to the tape on kind. Easy install.

That happened to me on other cars with other brand Vent Visors. I'm guessing that they're the In Track type. I actually used a small ignition points file to file the lead edge of the visors that the window is hitting. Really not sure why they're made the way they are with a blunt edge for the window to slam into it. Good Luck! Filing the edge will work

I have always bought in channel visors as they look so much better than the tape on the outside ones in MHO. The key to any of them is to slowly do the window up while holding the visor to the outside of the window frame and then leave it up for at least 24 hours. No issues after this.. Over the years I have seen so many of the outside type coming loose and flapping in the wind on other vehicles going down the road. Heck for the winter time, the windows can just stay up for awhile. I would imagine the instructions on the majority of in channel visors tell you to leave up a certain amount of time, Just my thoughts, hope this helps.

Spot on advice. I installed these & kept windows closed several days. In past vehicles I didn't allow windows to remain closed long enough with resulting problems.
