I'll be 68 next Saturday. My first pickup was a '84 S-10.

Just curious. What's the age of the Maverick owners on this site? I'm 61. Any women owners? At our dealership, most Maverick owners are older (50+) and male. I think I've seen only one female Maverick owner at our dealership. I don't think I've seen any who are under 50. The Maverick seems like it would be something that would be popular with young people given it's practicality and entry level price. But the young people I've talked to personally like the way it looks, admit it'll meet their needs, but aren't interested in buying it because they seem to think it's a old man truck .
Well, it was a no frills price when it started out, but it’s hardly that any more. And it’s not sporty or sexy. I’m old and female, and I don’t find it practical. I bought it because it was the cheapest hybrid I could find, after our govt took away 90% of the EV tax credits in 2022.

Guess im in the minority here at 33. Wanted something good for doing outdoors stuff and road trips. Fits that role to a T. Ive mostly had Tauruses, but a few fun cars like a Mustang GT, an Abarth and a GTI. Ill get another fun car soon, but I have to say the Maverick is crazy enjoyable to just drive around.

I understand the different perspective. As for price, I see younger people (other than high school kids) in vehicles much more expensive than the Maverick. Some of them get in serious debt buying something they can't afford. Or they spend the same thing on a used f150, or Silverado. But I do believe that Ford needs another entry level vehicle at the price point of the focus or fiesta

  • Mavericktruck club is an echo chamber for older folks.
  • It's very unaffordable to most kids out of highschool and college
  • I'm not anywhere near 50 but don't see a lot of Mavericks in the wild outside of fleet vehicles. The owners I do see are probably 30s to 40s
I see college kids getting in over their heads with either new vehicles that are more expensive than the Maverick or used vehicles that are around the Maverick price. But I live in North Florida and work in South Georgia. This is definitely F150, Silverado territory. I see a few spoiled kids in late model f250 Diesels. But most buy overpriced used F150s Silverados and Rams.

I had.... (1986-2022)
1985 Ranger S
1994 Ranger XLT
2008 Ranger

Maverick fits right in..

Jerry
That gap seems appropriate. A lot of people held on to their last gen Ranger until the Maverick came out. 😅

Phoenix, AZ 70 year old male. Bought a 2005 Ranger new and in June it was 20 years old and 300,000 miles and decided it was time for a Hybrid Mav with great gas mileage. Very happy with it.

Millennial, drove an F-350 for work and liked the feel of a truck cabin versus a van or sedan cabin. Didn't have to pay to fuel those monsters up however...

The Maverick was perfect but I was leery of buying into a newly minted vehicle so I waited for the refresh in 2025 before ordering assuming they'd have worked out the worst problems. The next decision was between Ecoboost or Hybrid... I've driven the larger Ecoboosts and they are fun, but the clear choice in 2025 for a long term keeper is the hybrid. The last decision was the color, you see A LOT of white, black, gray/tan cars on the road today... the colors just seem to be missing and I love deep, saturated colors.

So here I am with a 2025 Eruption Green Lariat Hybrid.

The demographic on this forum is mostly 50+, so the results here are not terribly accurate. If you go on Facebook or Reddit, you quickly find most users in those places are under 50, you get similarly inaccurate results from those owner surveys. In real life, meeting and seeing other Maverick owners, I’d give it a 60-40 split between under and over 50, as expected because of the fact that over half of new vehicle buyers are over 50. Older people have more disposable income, so it makes sense.

if you look at the bottom of this forum page you also find multiple already exist polls asking this same question.
Yes, I see now. I didn't see the previous polls until after this one😅

Nice 77!
Learned to drive on a 69 F100 3 on the tree, fleet side, long wheel base, power nothing.
Owned
82 f150
87 Mazda B2200
88 F150
2024 Mav xlt hybrid

You can probably guess I am closer to 70 than 60!

Wish I still had the 69 and the mazda!
My dad had a customer who was in construction who reluctantly traded his 1976 f150 with a 390 for a 1993 (I think) Mazda B2200. I believe it was the last year before they started selling rebadged Rangers. He could no longer justify spending the money it took to feed the 390. He said that he could almost make the Mazda payment in the fuel savings. The Mazda bed was often filled to capacity. But it wasn't overloaded.

I'm 80, and my Mav is perfect for my needs, but I'd think it would be great for younger people starting their home-ownership 'adventure', or hauling bulky sports equipment (bikes, etc.).
In truth, it'll be perfect for the younger person. But young people tend not to really be that practical.

I am 29 years old, female, and proudly own a 2022 Ford Maverick Lariat AWD. I turn 30 in December if that makes a difference 🤪 I am so excited to customize my truck as time passes!
Wow! Young and female. You're definitely unique in this crowd. But in all reality, the Maverick seems to be the perfect truck to customize and make your own.

My only "regret" is that they didn't have the eruption green on the lot when I purchased mine. I definitely would have gotten it. I had 2 colors I definitely did NOT want, Black ( nice but too hard to keep clean) and whatever grey that seemed to appear recently. I don't know the real name.. But I call it Primer Grey. That lets you know my opinion of it. I ended up with Oxford White. It was last on my acceptable list. Thankfully the stripes from the Black appearance package keeps it from looking like a government fleet vehicle. If I ever get another new vehicle, it will be a REAL color such as a green or blue.

Early 40s “elder” millennial female. My body told me I could no longer sleep on the ground in tents and wanted something that could tow a small camper without nickel and dime-ing every pound. But also wanted something that was reasonable to drive every day (only one vehicle for me) and haul things for home projects. Though it’s amazing what you can put in and on a Focus when circumstances dictate…
My last vehicle was a 2011 focus. Purchased out of necessity rather than desire. But it was a practical vehicle. I challenged the limits of what it could haul as well.
