What was the first thing you bought for your Maverick?

Me: '24 Lariat hybrid with factory $135 all-weather floor mats:

First mod was a tailgate damper. Then black raised tailgate letters, a cover for the rectangular opening in the underside of the tailgate, a simple plug for the hitch opening, black bezel for the dash below the screen [25 Mav's w Sync 4 don't need this]. The biggest waste was the hood struts. I have yet to install my lighted sills.

The title says it all. What was the first thing you bought for your Maverick? What made it the first thing? What have you bought for your Maverick that you regret buying?

I have a pile of stuff waiting in my Amazon cart to get, but I was curious what others bought first and why.

Yeah, it was almost the reason for not purchasing the truck. LOL!!

They COULD have put it in the center of the tailgate!!! ROTFL!

It had to be put somewhere that a license plate reader can read it all the time. (A great way to avoid tolls, would be to drive with your tailgate down)

I'm pretty sure it was a dog hammock for the backseat so our pup could ride back there without scuffing up the faux leather. That or a little plastic shelf insert for the center console since it didn't come with one. Needed a place to keep my parking meter change, headlamp, and other things!

+1. That was my first addition as well, and the one I would keep if I could only keep one.

That makes sense logically. From an aesthetic point of view, I try very hard to look the other way when I pass in back of the Mav. lol

The first thing I bought was a folding 13" step stool. I keep it secured to the side of the bed with a bungee cord so it's always handy.

Musology mud flaps, didn't like the factory ones. I ordered my Mav with factory SIBL, hard trifold and carpeted floor mats.
