The title says it all. What was the first thing you bought for your Maverick? What made it the first thing? What have you bought for your Maverick that you regret buying?

I have a pile of stuff waiting in my Amazon cart to get, but I was curious what others bought first and why.

Tailgate assist and tailgate letters. Added the Lund hood protector as well plus OEM floor mats later on.
Still have a long list but one thing at a time. No regrets of any add ons as of yet.

Mud flaps, a windshield shade and two deer whistles up front under the tag holder.

My first purchase was the Mabett rear bumper cover plate. The unfinished look pretty quickly overwhelmed my OCD so it was that along with a silicone license plate frame.

Ahhhhh, that feels better. Wait? There's a HOLE in the bottom of the tailgate?!?

After I took my Mav home this Wednesday afternoon, I spent the night loading about 14 items from my 'Zon wishlist to the shopping cart. Got 2-3 items yesterday, 2-3 more today, and installed them all this afternoon:

Tailgate strut; rear bumper plate; shock absorber cover, hitch cover; center console cover, and door storage liners.

Almost installed the bottom plate cover, but it was getting a bit toasty outside.

Door handle inserts. That and a tonneau cover are all I wanted.

I think for me it was the tailgate assist as well. But it's a shame to remove the side bracket and lose a tie-down point, so I made a replacement tie-down. Enjoyed making them enough that I keep making more. Please buy one.

Works well and clears the new strut and no issues with the cable. And made in the USA. I have a thread here in the For Sale forum.

Add the bracket back that was removed!

I actually like the open look in the bumper. It makes it obvious where the trailer connections are.

To each his or her own. To me it feels a bit like looking at someone with only half a mustache.

The cover to me looks like putting wood paneling in a house. It hides a lot but not fooling anyone.

Hmmm, I actually have fond memories of wood paneling.
