Guess I hurt a feeling.
I’ll let you banter your weak BS back and forth in peace.

NO….your doors are. NOT locking ten minutes after you get out of your truck. Come on. 🥴🥴🥴
Oh really? These cars/trucks keep doing things 24 hours a day. They are on the internet or some other wireless communication system, downloading software updates and doing whatever else Ford is telling them to do. I've seen interior lights going on and off in the middle of the night. (edit: also random clicks and hums) Who's to say what else is happening?

Yeah, really….your interior lights are going on and off because your battery is low. 😝😝😝

I once locked my keys in the car. Took me 3 hours to get my family out of there.
Never lock the food in the car too!
Key and food out.

That's because no one, not one has been able to honesty video it. 🤷‍♂️
Don't forget many of those people who claimed it happened, also have recanted and actually realize that they were locking the door by accident.
It's so common that a member is marketing a guard to inhibit accidental locking.
Thanks @Glen Baker LLC - yes, that's me. I'D HAD IT with the accidental door locking due to the design/layout of the controls.

When gripping the door lever and opening the door, the side of your hand can accidentally push in the mechanical lock lever and a fingertip can accidentally press the elec lock switch. Aargh!

This ended up being a good excuse to finally get familiar with 3D printing and come up with something useful. Bought the cheapest and most neglected 3D printer I could find on FB Marketplace and spent some time watching YouTube tutorials on the design software.

Measure, draw, print, fit, and repeat. Lots of trial & error involved but I ended up with a simple 2-piece solution that works well in preventing accidental pressing of the lock lever and button.

That’s a great idea… but honestly, I don’t think anybody was pushing the electric lock button with the symbol on it. I think 99% of it was hitting the manual lever in. Of course I could be wrong, but I just don’t see the hand going that far forward when you’re “curling it” to open the lever. Not to say it’s NEVER happened, but I bet it’s mostly the manual lever.

Sooooo two nights ago I was driving north for the holidays. I parked in a lot and got out of the car to get something. The car immediately locked me out with my phone, keys, and dog inside. This has never happened before - it’s never locked itself with keys inside (or outside! I always have to manually lock it with the fob). It was freezing and I was outside for 3 hours waiting for a locksmith in the middle of the night. Anyone else have this happen? In case it matters, I have a 2023 Maverick with 30k miles. Just took it in for service a few weeks ago. Thanks for your help!
Has happened to me - just learning the in's and out's of the truck. I have Ford Pass on my iWatch. Works like a charm, including starting it remotely. The self locking is a bit scary....

It DOES NOT “self lock”. You are doing it. 🙂🙂

That sounds awful, especially with your dog inside. Modern vehicles sometimes auto-lock due to software glitches or sensor issues, especially after recent service updates. It’s definitely worth having the system checked at the dealership. If it ever happens again, automotive locksmith Services can usually get you back in quickly without any damage.

NOOOOO…read my post above. He did it himself. He locked the door with his left hand getting out and the other three doors were “unlocked” the entire time (if he had just tried them). There were no dogs harmed in this self locking incident. 🐶 ❤

Just to add because it may not stand out in picture - part of the design is a portion of insert that hopefully makes it easier to NOT push in the lever also.
Doesn't prevent it, since remote lock still needs that lever to move, but it does keep side of hand away from pushing the lever.
