I have not found the seats uncomfortable. I ask my wife if she found the seats uncomfortable, she said the Mav seats were more comfortable than our Sterns and Foster king size bed. Guess we will matress shopping soon. Wish I hadn't ask about the seats.

Today I was heading into the shoe store to get new shoes, and a guy with a Ford Explorer pulled up. I had asked him if it was a 2025 one because it looked new and he said it wasn't - that it was a 2021. I asked him how'd he like it and he said he hated it because the seats are uncomfortable as the base trim (which he had) had no lumbar support. He was fit, so it couldn't be this whole "you're fat" claim many love to throw around.

My question for you all...do you think Ford does this intentionally? Do they make base level seats uncomfortable?
No its just base seats, they are a one size fits all and thats why they are on base models.. as you move up you get rewarded(of course for the extra cost) with adjustability. very few manufacturers put their most comfortable seats in their base models...they put their least adjustable seats in their base models.

It just depends on the base models if the seat fits you right without any adjustments..My Maverick is a XLT no real adjustment to it.. its fine for a 3 hour or so ride I didnt get sore or uncomfortable with 3-4 hours in the seat... That said my wifes VW Atlas with the fully adjustable seat is MORE comfortable... but it should be its fully adjustable..and wasnt the base model..it was the middle model but I believe for 2021 all the mid and up had same adjustable seats.

You must be NOT in the boomer generation :) . I recall being taken to the shoe store by my Mom to get church shoes. In those days the shoes were kept in the back and the salesman measured your feet then went to get your size. If he brought out a pair that required a shoe horn or spoon to put on she would tell him to get the next size up so I didn't outgrow them to fast. The salesman of course wanted kids to outgrow the shoes sooner. The store I remember the most was called Duane's Shoes. They had a small carousel in the store for kids to ride while mom shopped.

Sketchers are for old people that can't bend or tie a shoe. It's a statement. I've seen some wearing what looks like 10 year old pair, worn out long ago. Really, I believe they are just slippers.

Weirder as they go? Did you even read the original question? The post I made was about all of Ford’s base level seats. Not specifically about the Maverick although I can kind of see where it kind of deviated to that direction especially since this is a Maverick forum, but the post was asking and intended to mean about all cars on the Ford lines. We’re talking Mavericks we’re talking F150s. We’re talking Bronco sports. We’re talking Broncos. We’re talking rangers. Anything and every car or truck or SUV is what the question was asking about. I recommend you go back to the original question and see exactly how it’s worded. Now I kind of think it’s cool that the shoe discussion came into it because the entire initial question mentioned that I was after the shoe store. So that’s where that came from but you recently just made a mention that every one of my posts have gotten weirder.

If you feel like these posts are strange or you don’t enjoy reading them you always have the option to scroll past them and stop reading it

No pain for me.

I like the look of that shoe. Maybe a trip to the outlet after all.
Go online and sign up to be a member (gotta receive emails) get $5 off plus points for $ spent. Also have sales discount and free shipping if want to buy online. Current sale with secret word which I forget right now is 10% for 1 pair, 20% for 2 pair, 30% for 3 pair. I think the one I took picture of was $100 before discount. If you buy online I think you can return to any sketchers store but check to be sure if you don't like and dont scratch soles. Check...

To OP's original question: I have an XL and find the base seats to be very comfortable to me, more so than my CR-V. That said I usually take a break after a couple hours of driving on a long trip, mainly for bladder capacity reasons. Never had a vehicle with super luxurious seating, the best was maybe the seats in my old 2004 Impala.

As far as shoes go, tend to patronize our local Red Wing store. Their shoe quality seems a bit less than it used to be though on some styles...not sure if they're still making any in Minnesota or if they've all been outsourced by now.

Here's a picture of a boot mobile to tie these topics together

I do appreciate the response but the question was more directed at all Ford vehicles. I have a question about maverick seats. The fact I think I have like two topics. One was a question and one was a thought in terms of replacing them with a different one. This one is more directed at all trims of the Ford vehicles

To answer your initial question " My question for you all...do you think Ford does this intentionally? Do they make base level seats uncomfortable? " I do not think they INTENTIONALLY make the base level seats uncomfortable. As business why would you want an entry level first time customer to HATE your product and never buy from you again? It is in the best interest of all manufacturers to keep loyal customers because it costs more to attract new customers. Are the higher trims better? Most likely. If I was buying a Platinum F150 I wouldn't want the same seats that is in the xl for that price. I find my seats comfortable, more than the 2023 Silverado Custom I traded in were. But every body and every person's comfort is different. There are custom made seats out there, professional racing seats are such, that can be made to fit and support as needed. That of course is an expensive fix.
As to the thread being "walked" off track well it happens in many threads. Sometimes the side tracks are more informational than the original premise.
Notice I clicked on reply to your post and your post is at the top of my reply. that is how we know who you are replying to.

Ford makes the base seats very comfortable to make customers happy I’m thinking, Especially first time Ford owners like me,

You've received plenty of answers to your original question. How many more do you need?
