Maybe. I mean my Honda element had a slight bolster. Just very slight. My Nissan Murano had a slight bolster but the bolsters they had flared out not up and they didn’t have firm stiff foam inside of them. They were more comfortable. The Maverick has extremely stiff foam in the bolster which makes it hard to sit on

By the way, if you really really want a personalised seat, there's this thing you can try which is similar to how they mould seats for astronauts or racing drivers (at least in the past)

However, it can turn very very messy, so the utmost caution and prep is required to ensure that you cannot get goop on the inside of your ride. Possibly you wanna line it in polythene like you were fixing to murder someone in there.

Anyway, the basic principle is, to obtain some two part foam, that is low expansion, mix it up, pour about 5 gallons or so into a bag, like a heavy duty garbage bag, tied off to approx volume you expect cushion to be, (IDK you wanna check but I'd be thinking something like 2"x20"x20") and sit on it while it sets up. Now you got a cushion that fits your personal ass personally. Then you wait for it to fully cure over a day-ish and peel it out of the bag. Trim and smooth it off a bit, maybe trim the lump between legs down so you don't mash your balls when you lean forward, then get some stretchy lycra or something to give it a cover.

I wonder if a bench seat from a Merkun Ford Courier would fit?

My Macverick seat are the most comfortable I’ve had since my 2013 F-150 XL
Longest trip was four hours non stop. I was quite happy.
If it makes a difference I’m in great shape at 155 pounds, 5’11” with four pack abs, :XD
Nothing but slick powerful cycling hotness.
All the women folk say I got buns of steel.
Personally I think I got no ass.
:XD

But I could see where big dudes would want better seats. IMHO there is no way a body by Budweiser would be comfortable in the Maverick. Even with better seats.
Also in great shape, 5'8". I lost my ass when I lost 40lbs last year and dropped to 140lbs.

Seats are incredibly uncomfortable lol. Maybe I just got used to nice sport bucket seats from my last car.

Today I was heading into the shoe store to get new shoes, and a guy with a Ford Explorer pulled up. I had asked him if it was a 2025 one because it looked new and he said it wasn't - that it was a 2021. I asked him how'd he like it and he said he hated it because the seats are uncomfortable as the base trim (which he had) had no lumbar support. He was fit, so it couldn't be this whole "you're fat" claim many love to throw around.

My question for you all...do you think Ford does this intentionally? Do they make base level seats uncomfortable?

I have inflatable lumbar support in my Maverick. I don't use it. For me I find it uncomfortable when inflated.
The thickness of the padding, in the Maverick seats is another matter.
It is too thin 🤏 especially the bottom. It doesn't matter whether it's the XL, XLT or Lariat.
Across Ford Maverick trims, the foam cushioning underneath the seat upholstery is the same, so there is no significant difference in thickness. The main differences between the seats on the XL, XLT, and Lariat trims are the upholstery material and available features.

It's most likely just a cost-cutting decision. I don't think Ford is involved in any seat cushion conspiracy, but, they have been known to be unethical, so I understand your suspicions.

I don't hate Ford. My family has always been a Ford family. In fact I used to drive a Ford Focus.

I do have a bone to pick with Kia since they essentially helped Honda ditch my favorite car, the Element, so...there's that....lol.

I doubt Ford makes base level seats uncomfortable on purpose. Why?

But I swear I’m hearing voices in the fake engine noise. Upgrade…Upgrade…Upgrade they seem to be saying. A bit disconcerting to be honest.
