It's a 2025 Lariat with 4K tow ... Holy crap, you just made me realize that it was fitted with the wrong size spare! Thanks for posting this, I'll contact Ford to have it changed. No wonder it's so much smaller!!

Unfortunately, thank you! What does the door sticker show? I've been trying for a year, since the '25 Order Guide came out, to have someone confirm IF Ford really up-sized the spare, or the Order Guide has a typo error, repeated multiple times.

Anybody else notice the spare they give you is not the correct diameter? Truck tire is 225/55 R19 ,29.96" tall. The spare 215/70 R17 is 28.9". Not a good idea to use with an AWD vehicle. I found a 235/70 R17 is 29.9" tall (and only 3/8" wider) so I'm going to replace it. Trying to get the dealer to do it. He is asking Ford why this happened. We drive long miles on I 80 so if we get flat, we would be driving a long distance to get a correct size tire, not going to do that to an AWD car. Anyone disagree?
I'm sure the spare tire that came with your truck, will be alright to use if you need it. I'm just glad that Mavericks come with a spare. So many vehicles nowadays don't have spares, just a can of foam to reinflate your tire, and ruin the presure senser so you need to replace that also. I may be lucky, but can't remember the last time I had a flat.

I think it is somewhat irrelevant, I haven't put a spare on the ground in over 20 years.

So, here is what I found out now that the truck is in my garage with 40 mi. on it.
Stock tires are Goodyear Wrangler Territory HT 225/55 R19. Per Goodyears website the overall diameter is 28.78" tall
The "full size Spare" I have is an Atlas Priva C/S 215/60 R17 and per their website it's overall diameter is 27.2"
I'm going to purchase a new tire as I described in my first post, so far I have found a Cooper Pro Control 225/65 R17 that is 28.5" tall.
Going to keep looking for a closer match, if not I'll replace the rim and match the stock tire. Not worth the risk of having to drive 200+ mi. to find a tire shop in the middle of Wyoming.

Might want to check the owners manual again, the "full size spare" as Ford calls it, still is speed limited, more so than the stock tires.* ;)

*Maybe Ford changed this for 2025?
There were three different kinds of spare available from the factory, when I got mine, adding to confusion.

So each needs to check their own.
May vary by year too.

I called the dealership to inquire and they said the spare tire size on the door jamb sticker is the correct size
Size on the web site and order guide was an error
So dumb, it would have cost next to nothing to put a 215/70 instead of a 215/60 and it would have been the right diameter to match the other tires 🤦🏻

Not that big of a difference. It's like running 1 tire 5 psi under pressure. Not going to damage anything. Ford wouldn't do this if it was unsafe. The "full size" spares are not same specs.
And wouldn't highway usage be the best scenario where the rear AWD isn't actually being used?

Now if towing, ok different.

Agreed, but they would have had to move the "popper" forward, to properly clear the larger OD tire, and not have the teeth sitting within the tread.

Wasn’t irrelevant to me two weeks ago in South Texas. Had a flat, installed the spare and it flattened within 5 miles. A rancher stopped and drove me and the two flats into town for repair.

He reported someone dropped a box of roofing nails from a truck/trailer 2days prior and he’s been helping folks with flats since.

Though the spare was a ‘full size’, the truck had a noticeable pull to the side where the spare was located. When this happens again, I’ll mount the smaller fire on the rear.
