So I’ve had my Mav XLT hybrid a little over a year now and I consistently get over 600 miles+ on a full tank and this run here in the picture before I filled up this evening at 682 miles. I was about two miles past 0 on the range left. I live in hilly upstate South Carolina so I’m impressed with these numbers.

My question is does anyone on here gone over 700 on a full tank? I would bet if you’re from Florida/Kansas/Oklahoma somewhere flat that you have gone over 700?

My next question is how much past 0 can you go before you run out of gas? I saw somewhere a while back about 20 miles?

I normally get 640-680 miles per tank, I'm in NC . Mostly non highway driving.

A mileage average for 5000 miles of about 48; that's calculated mileage; if you have not adjusted your mileage calculation bias, you may be off by 4-5% in the negative direction.
48 x 13.5 = 648 miles per tank.

Slightly hilly and reasonable driving habits are what give the high mileage; flat will not give much coasting/regen as there are no hills! Temperature and number of cold starts also have a large impact in my experience.

I barely have 1000mi on our 24 XLT Hybrid. We are averaging 45 MPG. Only filled up once, but was surprised to see 640 mile range! Pretty sweet!

I’m in the same boat as you. I would guess it has something to do with our special formula gas we are forced to use here in California.

That figures. We pay 25% more per gallon than the rest of the nation and get20% less mpg🤢

actual mileage divided by actual gallons is the only calculation that matters.

Correct, however on my recent road trip I got 45.5 MPG reported and 44.9 calculated. Not really too bad considering the variables. (fill to same level, slope of the pavement, temperature, etc.). I will need to run a few more tanks through it to be sure. However as much as I drive and a 650+ mile range, it will be a while :)

People assume that when the pump says 10.3 gallons that it really is 10.3 and not 10.39. Also When do you capture the mileage start and stop? With the key on using fuel probably.
I always reset my trip OD before I leave the pump. So I it is easy to get # gallons and # miles driven between fill ups. Here in Washington the pumps are supposed to be calibrated by the state. I think the variation could be the cut off point. I always fill until the pump cuts off. The cut off point is one variable I have not researched.

Normal driving habits could make it worse for hybrid.
Not even talking about the jack-rabbit starts and short stops totally.
But since that uses the ICE - normal advice applies to be efficient.

Think about normal driving routes.
If you waste the HVB eeking out EV going up a hill or accelerating slow - to the point that you reach a stop or slight downhill/level section where EV could also be used - but now it can't because the HVB was used up.
No good.

Aggravating feeling to have just barely kept in EV over slight incline say, then everyone short stops, and about the moment you stop the HVB has run low enough that the ICE kicks on - while you wait at a red light.
Then it turns off because you reached 40% SOC, and immediately the light turns green and you need the ICE again to accelerate.

There are several ways to drive that can just make it so much worse.
