The instillation of a catch can will not invalidate a warranty. There are no detrimental effects to other factory parts caused by the catch can.
If the catch can were to leak vacuum pressure or become plugged up, that would have an effect on engine performance which would not be covered under warranty though. If this were to happen, the tech would simply smoke test the system and tell you that your added crap was causing the problem and you would pay for the repairs. But this would still not cancel your warranty.

Think of it this way; You can install a Baldwin or Fram oil filter and add Mobil 1 oil and it would not invalidate your warranty. A catch can won’t either.

That being said, I’m sure some Poindexter on the forum will be along shortly to tell us that their warranty got cancelled because they put a non Ford oil filter on their truck. Don’t believe them.
Some of us on the forum try to post information that is Helpful. Others are 15 yr olds who post things in an attempt to make people think they are the Boss. (just ignore them).

I fear that we are back to the "fact vs opinion" stage of this important issue. If anyone has any EXPERIENCE with the warranty/catch can situation, PLEASE chime in. ( Yes, we know that the dealership would like to dodge warranty repair. No, the cans should not hurt the engine unless allowed to overfill.) Those of us who got the extended warranty would love to get to the "bottom line" on catch cans.

I cant remember if this was for the new 2026 coming out soon or on the current 2025 model 2.0 engine BUT they redesigned motor and added Port fuel injection plus still with direct injection . With both injection systems oil catch can is unneeded now. The whole point is to stop build up on intake valve from oil but since it has fuel added with port injection it stops the problem.

BUT AGAIN I am not sure WHEN the 2.0 has both injection systems,

The 2025 2.0L is the redesign. I checked and mine has both port and direct injection. I was looking at the catch can as an added precaution.

Up to you obviously but I would bother. I wouldn't worry about warranty coverage . MOST Mav's have very little trouble first 3/36 anyway. Trouble after 60K on most vehicles .

I bought the extended warranty from Granger Ford. I have the 8yr/125k PremiumCare

Why not add a subwoofer, side marker lights, tint the windows or something else if you have money burning a hole in your pocket. A "catch can" won't do anything.

The improved OEM oil recovery system along with port injection are on the 2025 EB.

If I installed a catch can & found oil in it - I’d be concerned that I messed up the improved OEM system.

Someone on YouTube mentioned a built in oil seperator. Is that confirmed. Wasn't sure if the YouTuber was speculating or not.

As of 2025, port injection is added. It reduces the problem of intake valve deposits, but doesn't stop it. Likewise with catch cans, the deposits build more slowly but it doesn't solve the issue.

Oil separators are common across the board, and have been on this engine since inception. Oil separators do not remove 100% of oil vapor from the PCV system, and that is the reason the deposits slowly build on the intake valves. Catch cans and port injection help with the issue, but don't solve it.

The mechanic I watched on YouTube was not speculating but describing - and I took the catch can off my list of “upgrades” for my Lobo.

Sorry I don’t have the link, I’m done researching the issue. But I advise anyone considering a catch can on their 2025 EB to research beyond the thoughts on this forum - not that this forum isn’t valuable too!
