All,

I have the '25 Maverick XL Hybrid in Blue. LOVE the color.

I've read some posts on here mentioning how bad people feel their seats are (and have read some like them). For me, they are the most uncomfortable seats I've had. Those bolsters kill my legs and hips and the lack of a lumbar support kills my back. I used to be a body builder and a high level athlete. Now I'm a body builder of different sorts (due to injuries it hurts to exercise).

I know the Nissan Murano and Rogue have same seat sizes as the Maverick, (I came from the Murano) and the some of the best seats in the business. Their transmission sucks, but seats are great. So my dream is to steal those seats or have an upholstery place recreate it.

But I heard the Bronco Sport seats are comfortable. People mention higher trims of the Maverick are better. Not sure. What's all your opinions? I'm a bigger guy, so I want my comfort :)

(No, trading in the Maverick is not one of the options)

Regarding the Sound, I have a pair of Hertz speakers picked out with a Kicker Amplifier that will be going in soon. Can't blast my metal with these stock speakers and the windows open.

I hated the driver's seat in my Tremor XLT. Finally took the time to raise the front of the seat track about 1/2 an inch using some washers. Removed the front seat track bolts and loosened the rear bolts. Took about 30 minutes. The seat is much more comfortable. No more back pain.

Really? I'm very interested. I read some posts on here (I've been reading but this is my first post), and I've seen some thing about lifting them with spacers. Would that raise it higher in the front? I have two places for upholstery. One said they can fix the lumbar for $100. The bolsters on the side of the seat are killing me (the stiff foam) coming up.

The Maverick has 2-3" of firm foam. The Murano has 4-5" of Zero Gravity/Space Foam/Polyurethane foam.

The short depth of the seat bottom and the lack of an independently adjustable seat bottom angle make them meh at best.
I agree. The upholstery places (well one anyway) mentioned he could add a slight board internally and extend it. The cushion from back to front is 19.5". The Murano is 21". So he could make it work, but if there's a Ford answer, i'd be down. Or if auto shops weren't weak and could put in a murano seat id be thankful.

That is partly why I'm rethinking getting at least the XLT Lux to get the 8-way power seat...there's no seat bottom tilt.

Sounds like you're considering exactly what I would...just getting the seat altered and reupholstered once you figure out what's missing (extended seat bottom cushion, thigh support, seat bottom tilt, etc). Might as well add seat heaters too while you're at it.

Anything is possible with enough time and money. Re-engineering a Nissan seat to fit a Ford would definitely be challenging to say the least since it's not like it's a universal seat that just needs a seat rail bracket fabricated.

Find a seat from a Focus, Fiesta, Fusion, Escape or Bronco sport that's comfortable and the odds are it'll probably bolt in.
It's been proven that Focus ST seats fit and they're wonderfully comfortable and Fiesta ST seats should also work, since they fit the Focus.

Fusion and Escape seats may work, they're all built on the same platform. If it bothers you that much I'd look at the options.

I had a Lincoln MKZ that I wanted to love, but the seat wouldn’t let me drive more than an hour without causing thigh and hip pain. Traded that in on my Maverick and very happy now. Everyone is built different….sounds like adding a spacer or two is the first and cheapest step. Maybe try that before spending money on a seat rebuild. Either way, the Mav is worth making it work IMO.
Good Luck and let us know how it works out!

See if you can snag a set of Lariat seats at a salvage yard. I have done 9-10 hour driving days and no discomfort what so ever. 25 Lariat Hybrid AWD

After one month driving my new 2025 XLT Lux hybrid, i was in pain after a 10 minute drive, limping when I got out. Another thread on MTC someone suggested a gel foam seat cushion. Found it Saturday night on amazon for $20 with delivery by 8am the next morning. It came with a zip up cover. Took a couple of trips around town and no pain. I slipped it under the new seat covers and I'm happy to report a month of no pain. I was lost wondering what it would take to fix it. It helps to belong to a great community.

I have an XLT with the luxury package, lumbar is good but they aren't very good otherwise. I got a memory foam cushion but it didnt help a lot. One of my issues is the front of the seat digs into my thighs, I have been thinking of raising the rear of the seat.

The gel cushion is almost 2" think, and raises my leg above that front bolster. I'm 5'6" and it helped my short legs.

I stopped by a local dealership and sat in the Bronco Sport (which I test drove prior to buying the Maverick)...I like the Maverick more (but like the BS), but would I be crazy to say the BS had more comfortable seats. Not by miles ahead, but I didn't have bolsters digging into my legs or hips AND had lumbar support on the base model, upon which the Maverick doesn't. As the BS and Escape use essentially the same setup the Maverick does (and apparently after reading today, so does the Ranger), do you think that may be a possibility? I've also read on these forums here there are these pieces that raise the back of the seat up. Would that lessen the pain of the bolsters? Get rid of the hip and back pain? Does anyone have photos?

I use a Purple brand pillow (Royal) - (2") and I have to twist my body getting in every time and it's killing me. I've now started to get right hip pain as well as my hip bursitis (which is massively inflamed) on the left.

I love the Maverick and want to keep it, but I need help with the seats. If I had my perfect world I'd rip a seat out of the Nissan Murano or Honda Element. Murano has the same dimensions but they claim there's something about the base bar could be curved?

I guess it comes down on how people are built. Have absolutely nothing bad to say about the seats in my 25'XL. Picked it up in Kentucky and drove back to Houston without an issue. Just hate the passenger seat as it is not height adjustable but fortunately, I never use it unless I had a few drinks.

@bgn nailed it for me - with the lack of an (independently) adjustable bottom however I find Ford's seats comfortable over all. Not as comfortable as my Bronco's were but I am quite comfortable in the Maverick.

Could go for a slightly longer bottom cushion (and as mentioned, adjustable) but the flat cushion on the bottom is nice and the seat back is decently bolstered. I wish the lumbar was able to be adjusted up and down more but I'd give my seat comfort an 8/10.
