So I bought a used 2022 2.0 AWD a few months ago to take the place of my old Ranger.
It went on its first long trip over the weekend (NS to NB and back - just over 1000 km)

When I checked the results I found it a bit shocking (in a good way)!
Surely this can't be accurate?

FYI, you bought a 2.0, not a 2.5.

Your fuel consumption equates to about 30 mpg. That is very good for an EcoBoost, but not unheard of. Congrats, and may you continue to be pleasantly surprised.

Your profile says Ecoboost, which is a 2.0L engine, but you seem to be asking about the Hybrid 2.5L ???

My Tremor regularly gets 30 MILES per gallon on highway trips, so I would say your results of @31 MPG are typical for the ECOBOOST.

As far as hybrid highway fuel consumption, I have no personal experience with it. But, doesn't the Hybrid typically get it's best fuel economy in city driving and not long highway road trips?

Yup, even the EcoBoost is pretty good on gas

We planned to buy a 2.0 AWD until they announced the hybrid AWD. Ours is averaging about 6.1 L/100km so far over 3500 miles (about 40 MPG?). Insane for an AWD truck that can do actual work

2022 AWD only came in the Ecoboost

"Shocking"

That could be either good or bad. Difficult to deduce.

I wish I would’ve paid attention back in the 70s when they tried to teach me the metric system.

Ha yep me too, totally disregarded. Logic at the time was not a single metric wrench/tool in mine, my dads nor anyone else that I knew, why would I need that. Today it a 50/50 mix in the tool box

Yeah, I was confused, too. Typically, "shocking" fuel consumption would mean extremely low fuel economy.
