Maverick Down (Totaled), But Very Safe Truck

It’s with a heavy heart I’m posting that my Maverick is totaled.

I was t-boned yesterday on the way home from work by a guy going 70 that ran a red light, he struck my front driver fender and door.

Thank god this little truck is the perfect height and very safe or I wouldn’t have walked away with only a few bruises.

Could’ve been a lot worse and I’m thanking god and Fords safety features in the Maverick that I’m still here.

I am thankful for the little mav's safety as well and that you weren't seriously injured!

This shows you just never know when something happens that is out of your control...and then we need very good safety features to have a chance to survive.

I imagine 20 years ago, things might not have ended as well as side impact safety design has come a long way.

Make sure to see a medical professional, just to get thoroughly checked out as injuries can still have happened and show later in a day or three.

Cactus Grey Lariat w/ BAP ... almost ordered my MY2024 that way before switching to HPR. That will be parted out for sure. If you are getting another maverick, you should remove the adjustable cleats.

It's amazing how it held up considering that speed. You fared very well. I imagine you went to the hospital for an exam?

Thank you guys. Yes I went and got checked out and faired really well considering the circumstances, only some bruises on shoulder, arm, hip, and leg, light head gash and bruise and a concussion.
Sad to see the Mav go but again thank it for its safety as I’m still here
Waiting on all the insurance stuff, gonna be a long week lol

Thanks for reminding me again...that this is why I have "no fault insurance".

Safety features of the Maverick probably saved you from way further injuries.
Just curious - were the forehead injuries from the "airbag' being deployed.

Just from the pictures, it looks like the guy impacted your driver's side wheel and axel which would have taken the brunt of the impact and damage...from pics, looks like the other guy's car slide sideways into the side of your Maverick....so much more damage on his car.

I believe my forehead injury was from the airbag yes, small price to pay for keeping my melon in one piece and keeping it from going through the window due to how hard he hit me

Yeah I agree, the Mav handled it really well considering how fast and hard he hit me.

Wow I'm glad you're okay. The little truck looks like it fared better than the car.
I'm guessing you had to cut yourself out of the Cocoon of airbags. They did their job though,driver side window is still intact.

Yeah the guy on the phone in a couple of the pictures was the other drive. He only had some bruising and scrapes on his elbows. We were both very lucky thank goodness

Yeah the paramedics cut the airbag, they definitely did their job thank goodness
