How to switch between lane centering and lane assist I can't get it write, I have Lariat 2025. They both work tho.
I've taken in my 2024 Maverick lariat twice for this issue. When I first bought the vehicle the lane centering, not to be confused with Lane assist was working perfectly. As I went down the road if there was a slight curve in the road the vehicle would track exactly in the center of the lane. There was no bouncing back and forth between the lane markers. The first time I went in they said it's working the way it should and I did some research and found out that Lane centering is different from lane assist. The co-pilot assist feature which the lariat has is supposed to keep it centering.

So now they are telling me that Ford probably did a over the air update that reduce the functionality of that feature. The service department supposed that they did that because they didn't want people to rely too much on Lane centering. I did not rely on it very much but it was nice to be able to have a relaxing drive, with my hands on the wheel, and not worry about where I was in the lane. I could feel the vehicle turning without my assistance.

Sorry for the long post but I wanted to give background information. My question is this to you all, what is your experience with the lane centering that is included in the co-pilot 360?

The response to this issue has been great with a lot of suggestions. Thank you all!

This problem has been solved. The first time I took the truck into the dealership they did their "15 point" inspection and found nothing wrong. According to the tech even the tires were inflated to exactly 35lb each. In the past few days I have been going over the dash menu, looking at every setting to make sure I didn't miss something. Well I had missed something. Three of my tires were inflated to 38lbs and the right rear only had 34lbs. So much for the detailed inspection by the tech. Anyway I know they should be 35lbs but I left them as is except for the right rear. I brought it up to 38lb just so they were all the same for now.

Guess what!!! The lane centering works like it should now. I even had my wife drive the Maverick just to make sure I wasn't imagining it. It centered in every curve in the road.

Sometimes the simplest solution is the best. Thanks for all the replies.

I'm extremely confident that 3 psi less in one tire was not the issue. Most likely adaptive cruise was off and you were feeling lane keeping.

what is the message that you are receiving when pressing steering
wheel button? you need a steering wheel icon on dash when it is pressed.
it becomes green when is working and white when is standby
Connecting forscan and checking 4 modules is the best way to check if function is active.

In answer to your question: I leave mine on all the time, and sometimes it seems to work better than others. Don't really know why. The other day it even kept me in the correct area of a newly paved unlined road. I think the system "relaxes" if it perceives you are depending on it too much.
I think it has to do with the line marking paint that was used many years ago. There are certain roads in Canada that have lines painted, but the centering does not work on my Lariat. It will pick up the center yellow line, but not the white outside line which is rarely ever repainted. I can just about know when I'm driving now, which roads in my area, where lane centering will not work.
