I've taken in my 2024 Maverick lariat twice for this issue. When I first bought the vehicle the lane centering, not to be confused with Lane assist was working perfectly. As I went down the road if there was a slight curve in the road the vehicle would track exactly in the center of the lane. There was no bouncing back and forth between the lane markers. The first time I went in they said it's working the way it should and I did some research and found out that Lane centering is different from lane assist. The co-pilot assist feature which the lariat has is supposed to keep it centering.

So now they are telling me that Ford probably did a over the air update that reduce the functionality of that feature. The service department supposed that they did that because they didn't want people to rely too much on Lane centering. I did not rely on it very much but it was nice to be able to have a relaxing drive, with my hands on the wheel, and not worry about where I was in the lane. I could feel the vehicle turning without my assistance.

Sorry for the long post but I wanted to give background information. My question is this to you all, what is your experience with the lane centering that is included in the co-pilot 360?

Someone correct me if I am wrong but I thought the only OTA updates the Maverick had were for the Sync infotainment system which would not affect the CoPilot systems like lane centering.

Lane Centering and Lane Keeping seem to be doing fine on my '22 Maverick. I use it frequently and haven't noticed any chance in performance with it.

Reminds me of the antique car ride.
I was too young for a drivers license when I rode it for the first time. However I had been driving tractors for a number of years. The first time the car hit the guiderail when trying to cut a corner, I thought: what the heck. Then I spotted the guiderail and the ride became instantly less interesting.
BTW, my brother was in the car ahead of me. I think we might have been the reason for adding the "No Bumping" sticker.

Sorry I did leave that out. The lane centering was working great when I first got the truck but sometime in the past few months it did not work as well. I would ping pong back and forth between the lane markings. Even crossover the lane markings sometimes.

The OTA updates for updates not related to the SYNC info entertainment system are only available on the 2025 Mavericks. I doubt your 24 Maverick received any updates via OTA that affected your lane centering.

Interesting. I guess the only thing I can do now is maybe open up a case with Ford. I have no idea what kind of success I will have that.

See if they have another 24 on the lot with lane centering. Take it back, tell the service adviser to take another look and tell them you'll be on the sales side test driving another truck with lane centering while they work and checking out how this "software update" effects that one...

I think I would find another dealer, OTA updates don't apply to pre '25 Maverick's outside the entertainment system.

In answer to your question: I leave mine on all the time, and sometimes it seems to work better than others. Don't really know why. The other day it even kept me in the correct area of a newly paved unlined road. I think the system "relaxes" if it perceives you are depending on it too much.

Not to be that guy, but what symbol is shown in the upper left of the cluster screen? The steering wheel or the road lines? Maybe the button has been pressed on the steering wheel to turn it off?

Thanks for replying. Yes the little steering wheel and lane markers appear at the to left of my dash board. If I am between the lane markers it turns green. I know what button you are talking about. I've turned it on and off just to make sure it's working.
