For the 5psi over, are you referring to the 36psi on the sticker? So 41psi all around? When I brought mine home the tires were at 48psi on all 4!
Yes.

I've run mine 40-41 psi continuously.
Tread life is better than average.
Even wear. 48 psi is fine for the tires if you are OK with it.

Lower psi is an advantage for snow and sand. If like me you are never in snow or sand, higher psi is the way to go.

(And should you find yourself in snow or sand while on vacation letting some air out is quick and easy to do.)

Just bought what is probably one of the last 24 Lariat hybrids in the country. (34K OTD... How'd I do?)

Over the years I've considered many MPG focused vehicles... One subject that has always interested me is hypermiling. I've gotten over 30 MPG in my 06 Mustang GT, and I have the pictures to prove it.

The one simple static thing you can change on almost any vehicle and see a significant MPG improvement --- The wheel/tire combo.

Those of you that have used the steelies vs one of the other options for these, what difference in MPG did you actually see? Theres a set of steelies near me for 100 bucks... I'm considering grabbing them and throwing some "pizza pans" on them to see what I can manage.

What other mods have had tangible improvements or worsened your mpg?

I looked up the climatology for your area and it sounds like you will get by with minimal HVAC use. This will be great for your MPG. One of the things you could do for the hotter days is give all your windows an IR film so your less likely to need much A/C. Use mostly just your seat and steering wheel heaters when it's cold. Your sliding rear window can provide much nicer ventilation without air turbulence and even more if you have a sunroof to vent during mild weather. If sun heating is an issue maybe a white wrap on the roof. I know my Maverick is my first white vehicle and I can hardly believe the difference in how much cooler it stays. I have found heat and A/C use affect my mileage the most as I have pretty much optimized my throttle application, driving style and tire pressures (37-38PSI). These are just some other thoughts I had.
Edit: An added thought here; I recently added a hard tonneau cover. Although it's too early to note any MPG difference, I have noted that a lot less air blows through my sliding rear window when it's opened. I now have to open it wider to get the desired ventilation. It must be really improving any drag from air circulating in the bed.

low psi for snow is not always the case.

That’s crazy that you have such a hit on efficiency with the AC
Some of us have driving scenarios that rarely see more than 50% SOC on the HVB, and closer to 40% the majority of time.

As such it doesn't take long for the AC to cause the HVB to dip below 40%, so the next time the ICE is on it's on until 40% again. That seems to then nab me frequently on roads I could be in EV mode, but gotta wait it out now, and the speed is such the charge back ain't fast.

Currently avg below 40 MPG on mainly city driving. Non-AC temps 42-44.

While not super aerodynamic the Maverick is somewhat aerodynamic.

Expensive professional engineering and testing went into the design.

Any body mods you do are likely to make the aero drag worse.
Well they didn't get the cD down to where they could brag about it, obviously. A lot of it's shape is dictated by packaging and consumer acceptance.

The Hybrid's Electric A-C can draw up to 3,500 watts at the highest setting.

3,500w / 746 w/hp = 4.69 horsepower.

But the small HVB can power that A-C for only a few minutes. So you have to run a big ~150 HP gas engine more of the DRIVE TIME to keep A-C running.
Can draw and does draw are not the same thing.

Well now, that depends on where you live (drive) now doesn't it...

I'm perplexed why you keep pissing on this fire hydrant though.
Because every time the AC is on it is not drawing 3,500 watts.

You’re well versed but you often speak from a position of authority when what you’ve said isnt always accurate

And you are pretending (or assuming) I said something I didn't.

Please stop. Read twice. Or three times.
You are mis-reading or being intentionally argumentative.
Then post if you feel compelled.

I don't think I have stated anything inaccurate here.

Yep spoken like a true Canadian. A/C is a survival necessity here.
So what did people there do in the 60s when A/C was only available on really high-end vehicles? And before that it was just plain not available.

I've noticed a MPG hit using A/c vs. no A/c with windows down. Being retired & not repeating commute routes daily, I can't quote MPG difference, but indeed A/c use on the 2025 Mav AWD hybrid is real. Side note: I love the 25 MY but would have preferred FWD since I never experience winter driving. However AWD traction is superior to FWD, & if you need traction, be happy you have AWD.

Yes that Toyota is an ecomodder classic. My initial Mav plan is for a cheapie roller tonneau with the T slot rails, low profile T slot crossbars and a "rooftop" cargo pod mounted "backwards". I would also like to figure out a clean looking rear wheel skirt.
