I've noticed a MPG hit using A/c vs. no A/c with windows down. Being retired & not repeating commute routes daily, I can't quote MPG difference, but indeed A/c use on the 2025 Mav AWD hybrid is real. Side note: I love the 25 MY but would have preferred FWD since I never experience winter driving. However AWD traction is superior to FWD, & if you need traction, be happy you have AWD.
Unfortunately that's only true for acceleration. Braking is slightly worse due to the extra rotating mass and total extra mass.

92 F outside. Fan speed 4.
Had been running for about a minute only, so no slow mode because reached set temp.
Merely turning AC off.

Around 6 A at 216V, drops to 1.64 A at 216V.

I kinda/sorta put a load meter on my A/C yesterday. ( via OBDII )

First hot day (97°F) in a while.

Engine off - A/C on Fan to Highest - HV battery amps being drawn was 12.5 A at ~ 220 VDC

About 2,750 watts.

Took a while; a couple minutes at least to ramp up to that amount.

Totally agree. AWD/4WD provudes improved traction while accelerating. Stopping is exactly as you said. Physics/weight dictate 100% of the time. AWD added weight slightly hurts stopping distance vs 2WD.
