The only thing I consider an improvement on the '25 over the previous models is the dual EFI. all the other changes, IMO, are less desirable. It's why I choose to keep my Hot Pepper Red Lariat Lux FX4 4K & integrated door keypad. Try getting that combination in a '25.... 🤣

SYNC 4 is a major upgrade.

my biggest complaint about the vehicle. in my 50+ years of driving absolutely the worst gas gauge i've ever had in a vehicle.

Driving a hybrid I rarely even look at the Fuel gauge. Pretty much just wait a month until the low fuel light says 50 miles to empty, then plan when and where I'll fill up.

The horizontal pointer on the left is the actual level, and it will slide down in small increments. The other stuff on the vertical part is just some designer trying to be artsy.
If you look carefully from the side, you will dim markers that will turn on once that level is reached. They are hard coded let's. In other words, they are not analog that move, but just a predetermined hard coded position

I preferred the 24 over the 25. It sounded like they had fixed the CV axles in the 25, and possibly had addressed the 12v battery issue. I preferred the 24's driver information dashboard, and the conventional knobs and controls. As it turns out we are finding out they have not fixed the 12v battery issue in the 25. I thought I was possibly avoiding some of the pitfalls from the previous year, but that is not true. Having seen the old grill and the new grill side by side that didn't really matter much. I lean more toward liking the 25 grill over the 24.

At first I thought that the larger center screen might be beneficial, but the more I have looked at the videos describing it's use and functions I could have accomplished all of that on the smaller screen. Maybe the Sync 4 is less buggy? Should be able to be updated OTA since Ford is doing that in other Sync 4 equipped Fords. It does not appear Ford is actually updating anything on the truck so that is pretty pointless at the moment. Maybe they will begin to do updates. Who knows.

If we find out the CV axles start to fail again in the 25 then it will have been a complete waste of time for me to have gone with the 25. The 24 has more features I like than the 25. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

As far as that dash it is a big downgrade from the prior years. Ford needs to go back to that artsy crew and see if they can push out an update to clean up the dash. I won't be holding my breath.

I’ll take your word for it, but personally I have a 2023 with a gas gauge that is more intuitive to first-timers and that you don’t have to look carefully at.

I'm sure most would agree with you, but I also prefer the smaller screen & cubby.. 🙂
yeah, I don't like this newer stuff, either.

I'm going to import a Lada so that I don't get stuck with a heater!

Unrelated to the gas gauge, but another thing I noticed is on the 2025 hybrid, the power meter has the white "engine" icon next to it; turns out that it has two shades of white, bright white for when the engine is running and dim white/grey for when you are in electric mode and the engine is off... Took me a minute to notice that one!
I thought the engine icon was the check engine light at pick up, was going to go back to dealer and complain, then figured it out, I wish it would light up when engine is running sometimes for me anyway its hard to tell when engine is on. Am old and this Hybrid stuff is new to me. Also was told 25 Hybrid don't have brake hold, salespeople should do their homework better, they have a lot of free time should be required to watch videos on all the models. When I bought my 22 FX4 in 21 I knew much more than the salespeople at 2 dealers, walked out of first dealer sales guy knew nothing about a maverick.

I have nowhere to put my gloves anymore, I love the big screen just not how it works.

It does light up when the engine is running, but it's subtle. I suppose many are using that EV coach screen which makes it much more obvious not only if the engine is running but where you are relative to the transition threshold between modes. My sales people have been surprisingly knowledgeable on the new cars I went in for, the only thing they didn't know offhand this time was that I had to buy the Lariat for adaptive cruise, since you could order CoPilot on the XLT too, but it was the difference between 1.0 and 2.0. Fairly niggly stuff though.

The entire car sales experience is outdated anyway, it should be as easy to buy a new car as it is to buy a used car, Carvana is a much better system, order a car, have it delivered to your door for a fixed price, the end. Return it and have it picked up if you don't like it.

People have a large gap in abilities and preferences, that much is clear. I've never sat in a car and been confused at how to read a gauge, and it would be hard for me to personally imagine someone with those difficulties. I haven't really used climate controls much in cars since auto climate became a thing. I haven't really used radio controls much since streaming and ad-free radio like Sirius became a thing so you don't have to hunt around the dial during commercials, etc etc. I use a screen for navigation, traffic jams/situational awareness updates, and seeing what that new song is that is playing, not much else.

Lots of whining going on in this one for sure😉
I love forums(BMW, Tremor, HAMB etc.) but this one is full of whining!
I know how to handle this one.

Thanks for info never seen difference in engine icon, see it now, it would be nice if they lighted the whole engine icon for us old people.
Question: how long is the start motor going to last drove 10 miles this morning with a/c blasting engine was on/off constantly is it using a conventional starter? Mileage really suffers with AC on 23mpg with AC 38/40 no AC
