First tow with my 2025 Maverick on a 250 mile tow pulling a 3,980lb (😉) Caddy. No issues towing up to 70mph, but I typically stayed 5mph under the speed limit and allowed lots of space for stopping and maneuvering. I used premium fuel for the tow and ran the AC all the way in 90°+F heat.

My tow dolly was showing its age and parts were coming off of it on their own this trip. It still managed to do the job though. It's time to either rebuild it or replace it with a trailer.

I recommend disabling the lane centering when loaded, if you have it, as the truck's small but abrupt corrections can cause a single little fishtail cycle. (💩⭐🦈 + pucker) 😮😓

Not too shabby for a POS!!!
The little truck is impressing me more with each passing day. I suppose I'll have to pat it on the rear quarter panel and say I'm sorry for calling it a POS when it overheated and left me stuck in the heat of summer for two hours.

Had I known the cause was an technician oversight during repair days earlier, I would have redirected my frustration. I mean afterall, machines have feelings, right? 😆

Nicely done. Does the dolly have a provision to move the location of the front wheels forward a bit - slightly ahead of the trailer's axle line? That would put just a bit more weight on the tongue and might help with that slight fishtailing you felt.

I take that back about the weight distribution - the dolly is a different animal from regular trailer towing. I'll have to read up on it.

Wait, I thought lane centering was automatically disabled when towing on the 2025 Lariats? 🤔

Did you mean lane keeping assist?

Does adaptive cruise still work?

I don't recall anything being disabled and I was in tow/haul all the way. Adaptive Cruise worked as usual as did the lane keeping until I turned that off.

That's strange.

Was anything plugged into the Maverick's trailer connectors? If there was nothing plugged in that would explain lane centering not being disabled

No, my dolly lost a fender and the right light with it. So I don't plug it in. KY doesn't require trailer lights anyhow.

That explains it. Plugging in a trailer automatically disables lane-keeping. You will get a pop-up message on the dash about it when it happens.

What kind of mpg did you get on the trip?

I towed my 2016 Yamaha YZX1000R about 100 miles round-trip a few weekends ago. My trailer weighs around 1500 lbs and the SXS is around 1500 lbs, too. It has horrible aero drag, though, so my mpg was in the 12.x range. This was at 65-70 mph.
