I would pull the trigger on this immediately, but only if I could get it installed and warrantied through a Ford dealer.oemplusupgrades.com
I would love to know down the road if this improves volume or sound quality like other aftermarket stereos have done in the past. I have a couple of nice aftermarket door speakers I had put it, but it did not change a thing due to the current factory stereo.I would pull the trigger on this immediately, but only if I could get it installed and warrantied through a Ford dealer.
Consider this "down the road."I would love to know down the road if this improves volume or sound quality like other aftermarket stereos have done in the past. I have a couple of nice aftermarket door speakers I had put it, but it did not change a thing due to the current factory stereo.
Agreed 100% Same height as the stock screen, but wide enough to eliminate the useless hole. (and center the screen) would the be the best - but not sure any Ford OEM screens would work...Honestly, the 12" screen looks too massive. Might be interested if there was a version that eliminated the cubby next to the 8" screen, but didn't look like it would obscure your view.
Plug and play plus, "All factory HVAC and audio control buttons remain fully functional with this kit." I like that. I'll be saving up for this. I really like the larger screen. Was on chat a bit today and this is the info they shared with me as I had much of the same questions as this group had.
Thank you for your interest! Here's a quick overview of how our upgraded system works and what to expect: As shown in the photo, the upgraded screen sits slightly above the dash, but this image features a pre-production bracket. The final version has improved fit and finish for a cleaner, more OEM-like appearance. Our upgraded APIM module runs more stable software than earlier Sync 4 versions and supports full-screen Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Ford locks OTA updates to specific VIN and Sync ESN combos, so Sync OTA updates won’t be available—but our software is already optimized to avoid the common bugs. All factory HVAC and audio control buttons remain fully functional with this kit. There's no splicing or cutting required—everything is plug-and-play. If needed, you can always revert to the factory radio. While replaced components won’t be covered under Ford’s warranty, we include a 1-year warranty on all parts in our kit for peace of mind. Let us know if you have any questions or need help choosing the right setup!![]()
It looks like you can buy the harness for $200, and then maybe collect all the other stuff on your own? Wonder if that is the best way to go vs turnkey for those who don't want to shell out $1500.![]()
My DIY cost was about 700$. You really do need a decent amount of electrical knowledge just to build the harness. I would not recommend attempting this if you don't have a background in doing this type of work.
The upgrade is amazing if you drive alot. Worth every penny. Honestly I would pay the money for the kit if you don't have the capacity to DIY.
I thought the Victoria Secret account was for your benefit. Will the upgrade include a gift card for a retainer for a divorce lawyer. I am not sure wifie will let me spend a grand on more toys because I called Victoria's Secret and canceled her account....
Nice! For some reason I thought I'd had read that it would be closer to $1,500. Are you going to install it yourself or have a shop do it?I just placed my order. I can't wait to get this bad boy installed.

That's the plan. I called the vendor and spoke with someone. He told me the unit is plug-and-play.Nice! For some reason I thought I'd had read that it would be closer to $1,500. Are you going to install it yourself or have a shop do it?
I have the food stamp edition. LolThat's the plan. I called the vendor and spoke with someone. He told me the unit is plug-and-play.
If that's the case, I will install it myself. If it requires cutting, splicing, or soldering, I will have a professional install it.
I believe the $1500 is only for the food stamp editions (XL/XLT). Those trim models have an older version of the sync system compared to the Lariat model.
My apologiesI have the food stamp edition. Lol
