Sync 4 8” XLT installed! P&P kit for the win!

I have been looking for a good plug and play sync 4 kit for a while now. After a long time searching, I came across https://oemplusupgrades.com. Sam’s pricing was on the lower side for these kinds of kits, so I was hesitant on what I would receive. I was wrong! It truly was plug and play, other than a few software glitches that were easily fixed with forscan and a session with Sam over the phone. I also opted to add a SiriusXM antenna so now I have full xm radio!

I also have the voice assistant and wireless CarPlay. This is miles above the horrendous factory non-sync system!

It is a tight fit getting everything in place but once it’s in, I didn’t have any concerns.

The APIM provided is one out of an f150 so it has the navigation map but unfortunately can’t be activated as it’s a connected subscription and as it’s not native to the Maverick, can’t be activated. That’s not an issue for me as I prefer Apple Maps anyways, but having the map is nice anyways.

You can do that, but I still argue the limitations of the base system are present. The audio quality is abysmal. The sync 4 is much better at preventing distortion at high levels. At least that’s what I am personally experiencing.

Yes, New acm as well, which is the amp/driver for the speakers in a non-premium audio system.

Some of us just link to tinker and mod (as long as it's OEM looking/aesthetically pleasing).

I missed out on those "lifetime" SXM subscriptions they offered in the early days. $500? Way to much I thought. I paid by the month way back when they were separate companies for about 3 years.

I'd use it if free or low cost. So I see that as a good feature. I actually have an external receiver but no longer pay to use it.

I'd use it if free or low cost. So I see that as a good feature. I actually have an external receiver but no longer pay to use it.

I have a streaming-only plan which works great from the phone via CarPlay. The signal is fairly well buffered and I have to be on a really scenic drive to lose enough cellular to drop the content altogether.

It’s $5 a month, which is more than worth it to me. The only hardship is having to put a reminder in my calendar to chat with their customer service and threaten to cancel every year before they quadruple the monthly rate.

I did not get an HD radio equipped acm, but fm and am seem fine. Audio definitely clearer with the new acm. I have JL C1’s in the doors and dash so that’s an improvement too but I’ve had those since the second day of ownership!

I just activated this one at $4/month for all access car and streaming for a year. Promo they had last weekend. I also activated my fusion. I was paying $10/month for just the fusion before so $8 for both to me is a no brainer.
