Any suggestions for adding on a tailgate assist kit to a 2025 Mav XLT? The only ones I see out there are for MY 22-24. Did the tailgate change between 24-25?

Nothing different it will work from previous years The only thing different on the tailgate may possibly be your handle if you have the trailer backup assist. Other than that regardless of tremor year any brand Maverick tailgate assist will work.

Have used the one as listed by Jamesmavericktruck as well. Quite happy with it. I think most of these kits are more or less the same. Nothing you can do wrong for like 20-25 bucks.

You know what I like about the tailgate damper? Convenience.
It has nothing to do with the weight of the tailgate
I like being able to walk up to the tailgate with my hands full and with two fingers pull the latch and let the tailgate drop and it won't slam.
$$Brand Name or $no brand name?
More than likely they're all made by the same manufacturer in China just with a different name and warranty. The $19.99 one is just as capable as a $29.99 one. I'll believe there's a quality difference, when somebody cuts two of them open and shows me the difference.

The tailgate is pretty light so I don't need one.
This is true. For me it is not so much of the weight issue but rather convenience. You just open it and let it go. Don't have to guide it as I hate to let it slam down. Probably the best small investment for me.

I recommend going with the DeeZee brand. It’s the one Ford uses. My dad tried another brand that didn’t work too good but the DeeZee works flawlessly!

MY DeeZee would get caught where the ball is when I opened often for a month or so. Weird... Not happened since.

yeah, it's light but it slams down if you don't hang onto to it when opening . I like mine. BTW I put the removed "bottle opener" on a work bench in my shop. Nice benefit.
