My '25 Lariat AWD hybrid came with Goodyear "Wrangler Territory HT" tires. At less than 4k miles, there is 11/32" of tread according to my brand new tread depth gauge. That might project to a 30k mile life - not bad but not great.
45k Tire, Easy.

I have a 2023 XLT hybrid delivered August 2023. with the CONTINENTAL PROCONTACT TX 225-65-17/ I have just over 17 K miles. I also have another set of wheels with blizzak snows. So for two winters used those. Yet my tires MIGHT make it to end of this summer. So maybe 11 K miles on the oem tires. .

Anyone else have this bad a result??? I drive slow too.

My previous vehicle was a 2020 ecosport I sold just under 3 years 28K miles and the tires were about the same as mine are on maverick. BUT that had 28K BUT also had snows for the Ecosport too for winter. So the Mav oem tires REALLY are BAD.

Is it just me???

I think I will get Hankook Kinergy PT tires next. ........... 90 K warranty If I get 60 K I will be happy.
There are Michelins on my 2022 Maverick. I replaced them at 40k which is a normal rating for the tire.

I had the Michelins. They did me fine.

My guess is that the difference between drivers is when they let off the brake in a turn. If your foot is still pressing the brake as you turn you wear the tires a lot more.

I almost always fully let off the brake before I turn, so the tires are absorbing either braking force, or turning force, *but not both*. The forces are additive, so turning while braking is like stomping hard on the brakes or like doing donuts as far as the tires are concerned.
There are some drivers that never learned how to "drive". I often see people accelerating while their brake lights are still on. I think they are driving with a one foot on each pedal, and let up on one while pressing the other, but sometimes press both. Like they were driving a skid-steer tank or something.

I'm spoiled by driving the Transit (not Connect) for so long, and the Sprinter before that. I get at LEAST 60k miles out of a set of tires before hitting the wear marks, and at least 2/3 are City miles. I would consider any tire that wears out before 50k to be incredibly "bad".

I have heard the same about the Continentals on the other threads.

I think tire manufacturers are shooting themselves in the foot by providing short life tires!

If they don't last, the last thing I will do is put the same back on. Of course I do my research well in advance and follow @Cherokee example that I don't run them down to the wear bars...no "skin to win" the wear your tires out the most contest for this fella!

Andy

I may be starting a new thread shortly on my dissatisfaction with the provided spare tire...and my thoughts...(go figure, right?)
100% agree!!! I bought a Subaru RX sedan in the mid 80's. It had Bridgestone tires on it. They were shot by 12K miles and this was our family car so it was driven conservatively. I didn't buy another Bridgestone tire until 2007 when i bought a set of Blizzaks. If you put a shit tire on a new car, people will not buy your brand.

Such a blanket statement is nonsense.

There are more varieties of tires than flavors of ice cream and prices range from under $100 each to over $1000 each.

Truth be told, there is often a difference between one brand of tires or another. Since I saw this thread, I have paid attention to the tires that are on the Mavericks as originally equipment that have come into the shop in the last couple of days. The good years have the largest Treadwear number. It's even larger than the michelins. I saw one with pirellis on it. I believe they are original. They had the lowest number I've seen thus far. And the tread doesn't seem to be that deep to begin with.

Sounds legit! I imagine the Perellis are sportier biased...therefore a softer compound for those high G turns and speedy accelerations!

"With great, soft, sticky rubber tires, comes much faster wear"..better in real winter areas, possibly.

"With great, longer lasting tires comes from a much harder, long wearing compound ruber tire. Not so great once you get close to freezing temperatures...

So, choose your next set carefully!

Thankfully, I live in North Florida (Tallahassee) . So cold weather isn’t really an issu when selecting tires. So for me long life is my priority since i drive an aver of 600 miles/ week . Sometimes more. So I want a tire that’s going to wear evenly as long as i maintain them properly and last a long time , yet be at least reasonably priced. I’m glad we can buy tires with only rain and heat in mind and use Them year round. If we get a once a 20 year snow like this past january, we just stay home😂😂

I know people laugh when I say it, but I love having a real winter...I look forward to going out with my EGO battery powered snow blower and throwing the snow away! (They are simply awesome machines, and light/easy to handle).

I feel sorry for those that don't get that experience regularly, that thrill as the snow flies by the windows horizontally as you get dressed in 4 layers...ummm, and the potential of frostbite if underdressed. ;-)

The Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires used on Porsche GT2 and GT3 RS are $2500 per set, and if you do mostly street use + some track days you'll get about 4000 miles out of a set. Believe it or not, that's considered "good" 😄

Curious which tread depth gauge you purchased? I'm looking in to getting one myself as I've never had one. Are they all pretty much the same? I don't want to spend a ton on one that's for sure:)

SOOOOOOOOOO many people can't drive but I hadn't even thought of this in regards to so many behind the wheel...
