Just got back from a 2,500 mile and 650 mile trip camping in PA, the Carolinas, Smokies, Tennessee, Kentucky, and points west. The Mav pulled 3,200 pounds through the East with no problems.

Yesterday pulled the rear speakers so I could tap the wires, those panels are terrible, sort of damaged the clip on one. Then I go to the other side and find out someone must have been there before me because the clip was broken off and nowhere to be found, plus where it broke was oddly smooth.
I didn't expect that since its only a few years old but I guess the previous owner was up to something.
They seem to be back in ok, but if they rattle I'll figure out a fix or get new replacements. I like how my old cars just use a Philips screw.

On Saturday, I drained and refilled the factory PTU & RDU oil on the FX4 at 9,200 miles. The RDU oil was clean and honey-colored, and the PTU was a little dark but still translucent. Both had metal particle buildup on the drain plug magnets that is to be expected from factory gear oil.

I also swapped the oval badges out for the black/smoked chrome kit that comes with the Black Appearance Package. I will post more pics of those in the black oval kit thread here: https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/forum/threads/maverick-black-oval-kit.67757/

On Sunday, we visited some local creeks and rivers. We've had a wet Spring, so the water is up. Below is a county road crossing, but the deepest part was about 10 inches deep and swift, so I stayed on the gravel bars. Sand mode works great for this.

This seems like a decent random spot to put this request . . . . My maverick on order, can anyone take the measurement from the front bumper to the back of the crew cab?

I'm trying to hang mountain bikes on the garage ceiling and want to make sure I'll have clearance once it comes (I'll be backing in).

As I'm typing this. . .. . i realize I could take overall length -minus the bed . . . but it would be nice if someone could double check it for me

I’d say about 11 feet from front bumper to end of cab. Maybe a couple inches more, according to your picture.

Yesterday I installed the Air Lift 1000 #60859 air spring kit on my FX4.

Tips:

• Use some lubricant on the air springs to aid in inserting them into the coil springs. I used Fluid Film and didn't need any tools to insert them.
• In my opinion, on the Mavericks without the rear box resonator, you don't need to use the included heat shields if you route the hoses properly. There is 7" minimum clearance from my exhaust to any hose or air spring.

Added an amp that was gifted to me years ago and just sat around the house, along with a Kicker Keyloc and a 500W sub. Don't judge me on the wiring, its still rough. Wanted to make sure it all worked and next I'll clean up the routing etc, my back needed a break. This is the first time I ever installed this kind of set up from scratch.

How was adding the assist? I want one for mine when it comes, but I’m not very handy.

It was super easy to do it. Took 10 minutes. Only issue was I had to remove the left side tailgate tie down bolted to the side of the tailgate. This won’t be in the instructions.
