Yes. Decided against the new Ranger as I didn’t need 4WD and wanted far better mpg.
I bought a 2025 XLT Hybrid. For 2025 4k towing and AWD are now available in The hybrid. I didn't need AWD or 4K . But this truck was already on the lot. So I purchased it since I saved a couple of thousand due to employee discount. It also has a sunroof and the enhanced Ford copilot 360. So a person can now get a hybrid whether he wants the basic 2wd or the optional 4wd. It makes the hybrid an almost no compromise choice.Unless for some reason 4k or AWD were absolute necessities, which they are not, YES. The Hybrid system is oh so smooth to drive, and yields great mileage.
This is both my first Hybrid and first Truck, and I'm really enjoying the Maverick. I've owned a variety of vehicles over the years from a Chev Impala, Chev Monza, Escape, Eldorado, Windstar (Fixed or Repair Daily), GMC Envoy, Subaru Outback, and now the Maverick Hybrid, and its my favorite thus far.
I work at a Ford dealership. So I know about the entertainment screen freezing up as well as the numerous recalls. But thankfully, Ford seems to have addressed the freezing screens in a recent recall/update. Most customers have indicated that their screen no longer freezes up with the last recall. Having said that, the 2025 have the next generation SYNC system and the larger, much improved screen that has proven much more reliable on their other vehicles. I just purchased a 2025 . And the touch screen is much more responsive than the previous screen are even on their best day. Hopefully, it stays that way.2022 Hybrid XL with 22K miles here.
Yes, i would bout it again.
3 reclals done last week in 1 day.
I do absolutely hate the entertainment screen freezing everyday, but is ok.
For sure i will keep it for 8 more years and then i get a Honda or Toyota Hybrid.
He seems to have gotten the combined bad luck of a lemon AND a bad dealership. I work at a Ford dealership. The Hybrid Maverick is among the most reliable vehicles. And Our small dealership performs the recalls promptly since they're simply software updates. Most customers can get an appointment quickly and often schedule to get their recalls done when they bring it in for an oil change since it's already there. Although as a tech. I hate for them to do it. Many customers actually wait while we perform the necessary updates required by the recallsMine hasn't had any recalls except a software update the dealer took care of before I picked up the truck.
No warranty work needed either, other than rattles. My previous two cars (Subarus) both had awful rattles, so I'm used to that annoyance and will not be taking it to a dealer for that.
Sorry to hear, but it sounds like you got a lemon.
Don't know if you're still around. But for the 2025 refresh, AWD and 4k towing are now available with the Hybrid. I didn't need either. But I wanted a hybrid. And the dealership where I work had one already on the lot that was equipped with AWD and 4k towing. So I bought it because my other vehicle (a 2011 focus) had recently been totaled. And I couldn't wait. I was already considering buying a used truck as a 2nd vehicle. But with this purchase I was able to get a truck that has better fuel economy than my FOCUS.Yes, absolutely! If an awd hybrid model becomes available I’ll get in line.
I'm a Ford tech. Although we've had a few customers with some battery issues, the VAST MAJORITY have been VERY pleased with their Mavericks in general and their hybrids in particular. Even as of May 2025, we do few repairs on MAVERICKS. Yes, there have been some recalls. But most are software updates that can be scheduled at the same time was the oil changes. And for 2025 the hybrid can now be purchased with all wheel drive and 4k towing. This thread is a perfect example of what we've been talking about. It's perfect bait for the maverick haters, and we've seen most of the usual suspects come out to play, all four of them on the thread of 26k people and hundreds of thousands of trucks.
To anyone concerned about the mavericks quality, even the most reliable cars ever built had a vocal group saying how unreliable they are. It's just the way things are, there are some people in the world who just want to tear other people and other things down.
Looks like basically everyone here is saying their truck has been flawless, or has only had mild issues. So much for a pile of junk. But hey, if detractors want to jump ship and take their chances with the oh so reliable Toyota trucks that are getting their engines replaced after 5k miles, be my guest.
If you decide to trade for a newer model, the hybrid is now available with AWD and 4k towing I you desire to have those options.Ordered both a EcoBo and Hybrid, EcoB as a company work truck. If the EcoB was 4x4 I might have kept it, but found the AWD of the EcoBoost was just not that more effective where I drive.
After a year didn't need both Mavericks so the MPG and comfort of the Hybrid won, so sold the EcoB. Hybrid MPG is consistently 40-43 MPG. Sport Mode in the Hybrid has not disappointed.
Wow! It seems as if you got a lemon. We've had very few issues with Mavericks at our dealership with either the Ecoboost or the hybrids.Mine is a 22’ lariat hybrid. Just had the 2nd set of cv axles replaced. Completely died on me 3 times where they had to replace the main wiring harness.
Multiple recalls. Power plugs at the back of the center console in the passenger compartment and power port in the bed never worked from the factory. Dealership had to get new receptacles.
Most times I was on my own when needing another vehicle to ride.
Plastics get scratched easily.
With all of the issues my truck has had and the frustrations getting loaners from Ford where I had to ride my motorcycle in the weather to get to work etc. due to no vehicle to borrow or asking people for rides. Just not worth taking another chance with everything I’ve been the with my Maverick.
For 2025 all wheel drive and 4k towing are available with the Hybrid as well. The Hybrid has the advantage of a 100 000 mile warranty in the transmission and other hybrid components. I just bought a 2025 with AWD and 4k towing package. I've only driven highway with mostly 75-80 mph driving. So my mpg is close to 30 mpg. But I'm not surprised when driving at those speeds. I suspect it would be a bit lower with the Ecoboost being driven at those speeds. Yesterday I did some in town driving, and my mpg did approach near 40mpgNO I have had the opportunity to own both. 22 hybrid and currently 23awd FX4. I would average about 31mpg with my hybrid and I am getting 25mpg with the 23awd. For all the extra benefits you receive with the awd system, the difference in mpg is negligible. I know some are going to claim higher mpg but it depends on location. Up in the northern states hybrids are not as efficient as they can be in warmer, flatter areas. I currently have an order in for a 24 hybrid, rollover order. It will be an instant flip.
The 2025 refresh offers both AWD and 4k towing as options. Something to consider if you need to replace your current MaverickAnd doubly yes if they offer it in AWD, making it even better. Love the Hybrid drivetrain.
Ford has issued a recent update to address the freezing issue on the screen. My screen began "freezing" as well during startup, it will show the ford smybol loading then freeze all black or grey, if I flip to reserve the backup camera will work but once back in drive the camera is stuck on the screen until I reset the screen. Did you bring yours in to the dealership? It's pretty annoying, wonder if there's a fix.
