I use two low voltage lasers mounted to the ceiling and connected to the door opener overhead lamp via a "wall wart" power supply. Aimed one to hit my wifes Camry dash in a partiular spot and the other to hit the Maverick dash. Works great.

This question is why I'm cautious about using Auto Hold, for the folks behind me.

Brake lights stay on when using auto hold, so if that's your concern, no need.

You are not paying attention.
You need to buckle EMPTY seats (as well as occupied ones).
This keeps the message and chime off.

In 2022 yes.

In 2022 there are only 4 seatbelts wired.
There is a 5th one, rear center that was not wired to the seat belt reminder.

I use plastic tabs. Can use the plastic tabs to simulate a buckle. Or just buckle. The plastic tabs break the electrical connection.

I'm by myself 95% of the time.
Quick easy fix. No reprogramming.

Oh, I just have a couple of 2x4s at the optimal spot to stop the front wheels on the garage floor. Cavewoman style.

I've got a big ol hunk of logging chain which is great because the slight rust stain helps me put it back in the perfect position if I nudge it a little too hard.

Yes brake lamps are lit when using auto hold.

I find the downside being, there is no "creep" forward when the light turns green.... you need to press the accelerator to move, and often, this prematurely starts the gas engine.

Just hit the button to turn off auto-hold then turn it back on once you start creeping forward.

Just wondering if the ‘L’ tranny button works the same in the Hybrid as the Eco. I don’t use it much at all on my Eco, the few times I do, the RPM’s go up way too fast and don’t want to bust anything. Can’t see using it for anything but seeing if it still works.

Using Low won't break anything, it's just telling the transmission to use more of the rpm range to allow for engine braking. You could drive around forever with it in L and the worst thing that would happen is you'll absolutely tank your fuel economy.

I have noticed with extra gauges on board L heats up the battery pack more. Which makes sense since you are working it more vigorously.

Frequently I will put "L" on the last 3-4 miles from home to possibly get more than 40% SOC into the HVB.

Its my backup maverick 3800 miles in 31 months. I put a noco on 12v every 4-6 weeks also. I did put a Leer quad fold tonneau on it about a month ago.

Meeka was talking about their Ecoboost but regardless, the truck isn't going to kill itself because you used a very common feature.
If Ford didn't think the battery or charging system could take it they wouldn't have added L to the hybrids.

And you assume it is "ok" to drive in 1st gear all day in a manual transmission too? I'm not following your logic.

"L" button has a purpose.
I'm not convinced driving with it pressed all day long is consistent with that purpose.

Manual says not to use all the time. Not sure on distance as temps enter into it. After 4 miles or so the HVB will have enough charge (72% SOC?) that engine braking will replace Regen Braking which is when I will turn "L" off!!! It is allowed to use the "L" at any speed with the computer limiting the engine braking at something like 4800 rpm then using hydraulic braking also. It is a convenient way to Regen brake at 100% while slowing from 75 mph to make a turn. The computer will keep all variables within operating limits, rpm's, temps, hydraulics, etc. cruise control will use it on downhill coasting as needed. After using it to slow for turn it will be convenient to leave in "L" sometimes depending on terrain, etc.. I have about 1.5 miles with 4 90° turns followed by 0.9 mile downhill (time for either slippery or neutral without "L" button). Truck has computer = Use It!
