Kia Auto Dimming Mirror W/ Homelink question 2025 Lariat

Good morning everyone!

my 2025 lariat hybrid is coming in this week and I have a question regarding one of the mirrors that’s been posted on the forum before.

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this mirror: https://www.tascaparts.com/oem-parts/kia-auto-dimming-mirror-w-homelink-and-compass-a9062adup0

It’s the same part number that I’ve seen posted before, but I’m not sure if I need the YTB Customs harness or if the one provided with this mirror will be enough.

Whichever mirror you get, it should come with a wire lead to a connector AND the mating connector as a pigtail. You can either splice the pigtail directly to the vehicle wiring or into the YTB harness. Either solution works.

The dome light area is a tight space with short wire leads, and the T-taps that come with the mirrors are tough to fit up there. I would purchase either the YTB harness or this style of lower-profile IDC taps (though IDC taps can be controversial).

Is the wiring on the MY25 the same for the other model years? I thought I saw somewhere that the installation videos that are out there are not directly applicable to the MY25 since some of the dome light wiring was slightly different.

Watching this as I have a Lariat Hybrid in production now and I'm interested in this mod.

Agree, if you tap the dome light power, getting the smallest gauge taps in there is tough, and the dome light wire gauge is very small, so getting a good connection is difficult. Further, I had to go back in the with a pick to snug up the dome light connector pins, as the work to attach the taps, unplugging and replugging the connector caused the dome light to be intermittent.

I used a Nissan (Gentex OEM) auto-dimming mirror with Homelink, which I removed from a previous vehicle (Highlander).

Dome light connector is the same.
It is the camera connector that is completely different on the ‘25s.

Bad news: My order was canceled and refunded due to the mirror being on National back order.

Just a sidenote- mirror may have 2 connections- one for compass/ auto dim when vehicle is on, one for homelink when vehicle is off.

I put both power connectors on the 'vehicle on' wires so no one can open the home garage if vehicle isn't turned on.

eBay, mostly look for Nissan or Infiniti homelink mirrors. Some other ones have weird mounts. Been adding mirror to all my cars for years. Just make sure they have the wiring pigtail.

There's so many mirrors on Ebay at a cheap price too. You can go to a local junk yard and removed one yourself. Easy connection, just two wires, + and -, that's it. Get an ad a fuse and use fuse #3, that's all. I connected the mirror and camera together.
