new looking to buy maverick 2025

i have a 1994 jeep grand cherokee laredo driven it for 27 years, and while it runs ok its really ratty and drinks gas so i want to buy a new maverick hybrid

i wanted the 4k tow package but found out i need the AWD, copilot360 and 4k tow options that came to about $4000. there are lot of XL and XLTs on the lots here but strangely no 4k and only a few AWD. so imguess im keeping the jeep for hauling

my understanding is that the XLT gets you alloy wheels mainly. i can live with steel wheels and save $1800.

any ideas thoughts or corrections are welcome, thanks

I did a quick inventory check, and they have several 2024 Maverick XLTs with the 4K Tow Package starting at $29,039 (which includes $1K if you finance through them).

If you are open and interested in used, I have my 2023 XLT EB AWD with the 4K Tow and Black Appearance Packages for sale in the Mavericks for Sale section (look for the Shadow Black BAP with the matching A.R.E. V-series shell).

XLT for 2025 also gets you power mirrors, remote tailgate lock (not an easy upgrade to do on the XL now, but still do-able), push button start, tow hitch receiver, and I believe Perimeter Plus Security (includes fob remote start). There are a few other things, but those are the notables to me. The better XLT options require the Power Package. I bought an XL with CoPilot 360 which gives you the power mirrors, and also got the tow hitch receiver. I'll just add the other stuff that I want myself.

The XLT has an upgraded interior including a pullout center armrest in the backseat. Also ii offers different options not available on the XL trim. If he wasn't interested in the hybrid even more options are available such as FX4 pkg and the equipment or upgrades that are included with that option.

Whatever he gets I hope he is happy with it. It seems he keeps them for a while. Me I wouldn't own a vehicle without 4x4 or AWD. I also wouldn't think of keeping two vehicles, just maintenance and registration fees, insurance and difference in mpg doesn't sound like a good investment. Might as well burn or throw your money away IMO. Unless you have other drivers in the household.

Yeah, it's considered an upgrade. I don't really care for the colors. The armrest would be cool, but truthfully I'll rarely have anyone in the backseat.

Still the XLT trim is a good deal for what it includes, and especially if wanting other options not available in the XL trim.

1. i expanded my search to 2024s. there are plenty on the lots, they are 10 pct cheaper and i guess i can haggle them down more

2. im going with the XL trim. while the xlt trim benefits are numerous, none of them are mission critical. i dont need power mirrors, power tailgates, armrests, or expanded luxury packages. And im ok with uncool steel rims.

3. I would like to have a 2k tow hitch.

4. i must have a full size spare. I live in the desert 100 miles away from service stations. Many of the roads are gravel with heavy washboard. On my jeep i carry TWO full size spares. how can i get one as an option? it seems they are nearly nonexistent without expensive options??. any help is appreciated

CP260 on an XL gets you power mirrors and a larger spare tire. It is not a Full-sized tire, nor it is identical to the 4 main tires that come on these trucks. Most of the OEM tires are cheaper versions (having less tread depth) than retail versions of the same/similar tires sold at tire stores.

There are quite a few '24 models for sale ATM because there was a "stop sale" safety recall that affected many of them, preventing dealers from selling them. Many of them were custom orders that people walked away from, due to months-long delays by Ford to come up with (software) a fix for the recall.

XL is a good choice. Just make your own spare. It's no thing to drop the current spare and replace it. Sounds like you could use a tougher set of tires anyways.

Only reason i bought a 2022 xlt was to get cruise control.otherwise i would have gotten a xl.i was just wanting basic transportation and all that other equipment didnt do a thing for me.
DONT get rid of your jeep.you will regret it a year down the road!

I like your minimalist approach to the maverick. the 25 base now comes with a cruise and even a security system. looks like a winner. thanks again

XL is a good choice. Just make your own spare. It's no thing to drop the current spare and replace it. Sounds like you could use a tougher set of tires anyways.

I'm just sayin' tires based on your roads (and 1 spare wheel), going further would be up to you. The OEMs Conti. Pro TX are decent for a Grand touring tire, but perhaps you're looking for on-road AT? Compare tires.

There are some great deals out there. Just bought a 25 XL Hybrid, AWD with 4k tow package and a spray in bedliner for under 30k OTD. But will have to pay the sales tax in Texas once I register the vehicle which will add up another 1.9k to the total cost. Have to drive back about 1200 miles but was well worth it.
