It is longer - we know that. Doubtful it is “beefier” or thicker and doubtful it uses the same internals that the Tremor has.

Have people been asking for the Tremor CVs to be installed instead of the standard ones, to eliminate future failures? Have there been reported CV failures with the Tremor axles? Curious how the 2025 Hybrid AWD axles will do in time, any reported failures yet- i guess it's only been months....

this is not applicable to the hybrid, only ecoboost models.

hybrid and ecoboost models use different front axles because the transmissions are different. (ecvt vs 8F35)

awd models have 2 different rear axles, also. tremor and lobo have a different rear drive units, and unique rear axles with it. all other awd models use the same RDU and same rear axles.

as a Parts person for the Ford dealer our catalog does not show a New p# for the 25 2.0L Eco boost Maverick only 2 different p#s regular axles & Tremor axels

Now there is a new p# for the hybrid AWD and 2WD Maverick for 25 that is different than 22-24 axles. p# is the same for 2wd and AWD

That is correct.

Late in 2024 Ford came out with an upgraded CV axle for hybrids - at minimum increasing the length of the axle.

Due to the HF45 (2022-2024) and HF55 (2025) being different from the 8F35 found in EcoBoosts the CV axles are different.

Tremor CV axles are not compatible with hybrids. If I had a non-Tremor EB I would swap out for Tremor if mine went bad.

even if someone at your dealership said that, which I doubt, I cannot see how that could be true.

as you know, Ford pays a set rate for warranty jobs and it's typically seen as a little (or a lot) aggressive and difficult to do in the time allotted.

this doesn't apply for non-warranty work. if a transmission replacement is only given 6 hours by Ford but the shop thinks it's really a 9 hour job, customers get charged 9 hours for any non-warranty work. simple as that.

Not hearsay, this is a fact, us as the parts dept got a lawyer and they took a sample of customer pay ROs & that is the rate Ford warranty pays parts mark up. Now you are correct as far as time goes if they say 8hr that's all that's paid, but I believe the Labor rate is the same way. Again this is Arkansas State laws coming into play.

Do you have access for specs for those parts?

I have the AWD Hybrid.

I don't without ordering them & doing the measuring myself. which my boss would frown on. Since cost money to return them. but if I see any come across which we have, I'll try to get some measurements

No it has its own part number because it’s different from ecoboost and always has been. Has nothing to do with AWD in 2025.

The 2025s have the upgraded axles (part #) because the old axles were failing at a high rate.

I corrected myself in another post, the 2wd & awd hybrid use the same front cv axles & & it is a new p# for 25. now weather it is a improvement or not IDK

It is going to be listed as a 2025 part# but it is for all hybrid Mavericks FWD or AWD moving forward for all years.

The problematic part# is no longer available, or is limited to what a dealer or distributor has in stock at the time.

EDIT: and it is an improvement. It is at minimum - longer than the previous axle. We have confirmation from a user here that has posted a picture of the two side by side when getting theirs replaced.

I do not have the post link to share as CV axle threads are on MTC by the dozens if not hundreds.

oh it'll be much more than 2mpg

My ecoboost is rated 30 mpg highway. With lift and 255/65R17’s, I can’t get anything more than 24 mpg out of it. The hybrid will also probably see 6 mpg loss. Apples to apples.

The lift just looks right haha. I'm not ready to risk wear on the joints yet and my Ecoboost already gets terrible gas mileage lol.

I'm curious why you'd buy the hybrid then destroy it's MPG doing all of this?

What kind of mileage is your wife getting?

Well the results are in for the first tank
12miles when I got it with a full tank
370.2 miles on OD @ fillup -12= 358.2 multiplied by 1.069 tire differance = 382.92 actual miles driven
divided by 12.304 gallons to fill it up comes out to ....... 31.12MPG

It's better than the Honda HRV 1.8L we traded in @ 25-26mpg around here doing the same commuting. And can do so much more. So I'm happy with that.

Its not terrible, I can't even get 31mpg in my Ecoboost consistently. I think that's the best justification for the hybrid - you have more margin to kill your MPG - I don't know how people with brodozers do it with regular pickups.

My JK Wrangler got 8 city and 13 highway. That was with the 3.6L 4 valve Pentastar engine., which is pretty modern and efficient.

The tires were 88 lbs and wheels were 22 lbs, so 110 lbs at each corner. Bias ply. How did I do it? By not driving it daily.

It's a jeep thing, I wouldn't understand.

I live in Texas so it's parking lot princesses that only make Costco runs and the only off-road they see is when they park on the grass because the hooters parking lot is full.

The stock Aero is bad. Remove the stock underbody spoilers and give it 4 inches of lift and the aero is horrible. Same with the tires. 38.5” tall, 15” wide, 110 lbs each, bias ply and lug spacing so wide that you can hear them coming from 2 miles away. You can predict the rolling resistance by the sound. It’s like driving paddle tires on pavement.



On the rubicon trail, it took 2 days to complete and we camped overnight. I burned 12 gallons of gas. The Rubicon trail is 22 miles long.
