uh, BlueCruise IS a subscription. to be clear, it is not offered / supported on any year or any trim of Maverick. you can get it on a Ranger, though.
Right, I understand that. Something simple like auto high beams, or heated seats, BMW has taken the subscription route on those. Either way, I agree that there is a feature gap that Ford should try to make up for.

I wonder if comma ai would be able to still operate when towing or if Ford disabling the feature would also kill comma's capability....
I never knew anything like that existed in the aftermarket.
Thank you for the info.

It is supposed to be pretty damn solid. I personally don't find much additional need for it above Ford's lane centering but if taking your hands off the wheel on the highway is something you want to do then Comma AI might be the ticket...

Or if it would override Ford's disablement of the lane centering when trailering but that's a big IF and investment to find out it does not.

I would bet it does disable because comma is dependent on ACC. So if Ford functionality is turning off lane centering, it's likely going to be unavailable to comma also.

I disagree as the system is not unavailable it is just being turned off via software. Comma uses a "panda" or CAN to USB to connect to the vehicle through the OBD II port and it is doing a hell of a lot more than just receiving data.

I think it might work.

Wonder if there's a way to enable it in Forscan. I've been in my truck with Forscan and it's remarkable how much can be changed. It could just be a simple on/off setting. Maybe someone who has experience with the 25s and Forscan can chime in?
Yes, and when you get into an accident and the insurance company finds out you enabled it with Forscan be ready for them to drop you like a hot potato. 🥔

And before you say "how will they know?" they'll simply pull the data from the modules and see it's not a standard configuration.

One wrinkle with CommaAI is that many of the new models are starting to have some of their interfaces encrypted to prevent things like Comma AI from being able to control the operation of the vehicle.

Im a little un-trusting of comma.ai anyways. Like Tesla, doesn't it run on just camera input? A lot less reliable than Lidar + Camera.

Here is a great example of what you're talking about.

no, it actually uses all the Ford inputs and adds its own additional camera data to that. so it's using the Ford radar/lidar and the ipma camera.

That is significantly better than tesla, then.

25 Hybrid with tow package, when towing any size trailer, the lane centering feature doesn't work. I brought it to the dealer, they looked at it for a couple of hours and said everything looked ok and to bring back with a trailer. Until I do, I have to tow the trailer with the light cord tucked in so it looks like it is connected but then dont have any lights (is is flatbed so truck lights visible). I take it on 12 hour drives and really want that feature to work (without disconnecting the light cord). I think when you pay for the safety features they should work, in concert with each other. I don't want to tow a camper cross country and not have the feature I purposely ordered the vehicle with not working. I bet it is "engineered" that way by some desk jockey. Any ideas? I am thinking I have to rewire a new trailer plug and tap off the tail and brake light wires (switched to LED, so the signal/brake circuit has lower amp draw). I will have to experiment with the brake circuit to see if the truck will realize and cancel the lane centering or not, if so then a aftermarket brake controller...what a mess! It will cancel the Lane centering even if trailer is small with not brakes (even set to min sizes or if the no trailer connected button is used).

ADAS controls lane change, radar cruse control if you change the ride height that changes . ADAS can be calibrated with the extra load you put on the back but when you not towing it won,t work. Im curious how much weight your towing and do you put in trailer mode or can you put it in any other driving modes. What kind of gas milage are you getting towing. ??? I also own the 2025 hybrid and I will be towing about 1350 lbs.
