I keep my Maverick in the garage. The only time it's outside is running errands and when I'm working in the garage. It's such a sad thing to find a ding in my 2 month old and no one to take responsibility for it. The altruist in me is gutted.

But thus is life ...

So how do I fix it?

It's a VERY small ding that would probably be impossible to see given its location, but there's a discoloration that SEEMS to be additive and not bare metal or anything like that. I rubbed it a bit and it didn't come off, but I'm sure there's a proper method that I don't know about. Never really cared about my vehicle this much to learn.

Also, what's the best way to get touchup paint? The dealer?

EDIT: Picture incoming. Couldn't get one because it was dark.

Well in my opinion it looks like...
Oh Wait. You didn’t post a picture so I have no way of forming an opinion.
Post a pic of the dent and at least a hundred people are going to tell you what you need to do to repair the dent.

Well, you're not a virgin anymore. Now it will be much easier to accept the next ding/scrape/dent on your working truck. Load that Mav.

Nu finish Scratch Dr? Separately, I just got a dupli-color scratch fix in Ford OW. From Amazon but I'm sure the local auto parts has it too.

Possibly what appears as a color difference is just the way the light hits it. I'd have it PDR'd. (Pantless Dent Repaired) and the discoloration will either disappear or it won't and leave it because with out the dent you probably won't notice it. (If, it bothers you enough to have anything done about it.)

Exactly.
The first time is always traumatic.

''Pantless'' Dent Repaired? Hope you are in a warm shop. Seems like that may be distracting from the work at hand. Worried about a ding, just wait till you see the dong dents.

There are mobile ding repair companies that can fix this for a very reasonable price.

I vote "do nothing". Trust, having owned two previous gen Rangers and worked them hard over 200,000 miles. This is the first of many. It's liberating to get it out of the way. Now you can casually point to your Maverick and say "That's my truck" with some authenticity. It has patina now. It has cred.

Hey OP, I used to fix my dents right away (not exactly cheap). But eventually I realized it benefits no one other than the PDR guy and the NEXT owner. It sucks for sure the first tim but I realized if I keep fixing it it's money out of my pocket which I won't get back when I sell the truck eventually (trade in don't even care about small dents like this).
I also set a reminder like 1 week to fix it later. Usually a week later I have bigger or more pressing issues to deal with than a dent on the truck.
