My 2023 ford maverick hybrid and none of the airbags were deployed in a 2 vehicle 45 mph front end accident with pictures.

If you're referring to airbags deploying in the vehicles that were rear-ended, they aren't supposed to deploy in those cases. They wouldn't do any good anyway and might cause injury that might have not occurred otherwise.

Now, if you're referring to the at-fault vehicles, airbags should've gone off, if they were traveling over 30mph at the time of impact.
My son was not rear ended; He did the rear ending.!

I agree Ken but I still think if front bumper is hit by a 45 MPH van, it should have deployed the air bag especially since the sensor triggered my Ford App. to let me know the Vehicle is undriveable. I think the steering wheel airbagdeployment might have prevented the amount of injuries I have currently.
First I am sorry for your accident and on going issues with your neck. I’m glad it was not more serious.

Were you wearing a seat belt during the crash?

I tend to agree with others that this is a front offset or overlap crash and air bags not deploying does not seem out of place.

I have been hit head on by two drunk drivers with airbags deployed and while I’m thankful to be alive the force of the airbag in accident broke my nose and my wife suffers from the same injuries that you have. Force of the seatbelt is often the cause of injuries the the neck, back, and stomach.

I’ve also struck a light pole at around 20 mph in the same spot your accident happened when avoiding an accident occurring on the road. It was a huge hit and my airbags did not deploy.

Just missed involvement in an intersection crash with a Toyota van undergoing similar damage. Again the airbags did not deploy. The responsible driver took off and the police are searching.

Interesting that the intersection had traffic cameras, but when checked, both were inoperable.

Obviously from the injuries incurred, they were needed and failed to protect the occupant or occupants. What broke the windshield on the passenger side?
I'm not going to read through the whole thread to find out, but I hope someone noticed the starred windshield that probably delivered the head injury.

my question is, why was that person not wearing a seatbelt?

Glad you are okay, otherwise. Did your seatbelt tensioners fire? My wife did a glancing blow in her 2008 Escape at 40mph and the airbags didn't deploy either. However, the seatbelt tensioners did fire, which totaled the vehicle (beyond the fact the bill was more than the vehicle was worth).

I would refer to it as a glancing blow.
It wasn't full front on. It wasn't a full side on T-Bone. That's why no air bags.
It does not look like there are any sensors located where the damage was.

Do you know where the side airbags or side leg curtain sensors are located?

Lawyer up and sue!
15 lawyers turned down my case.
The reasons:
When hiring a product liability lawyer, the hospital bills need to be at a minimum 100k-200k in order for a product liability lawyer to take a non recall lawsuit case on.
If there was a recall on the mavericks airbags or sensors, all attorneys would have took my case.

The second diagram or diagram below shows where side impact sensors are located.

I know where the knee airbag is.
I do not know where the sensor is.

who was at fault? I see a police car in a pic, florida is a no-fault state which means each driver pays their own medical, but someone is responsible for the vehicle collision damage.

so, the lawyers weren't interested trying to sue the person driving that van, and/or the company they work for if it was a work vehicle or doing work-related business?
