Looks like the seat belt on the passenger side allowed your head to hit the windshield?
Mobile printer hit the passenger windshield. Flying missiles at 45 mph could have been a head or passenger but I was the only person

I feel your pain.... Literally. In 2018 I was stopped on the highway getting onto an exit ramp. A car comes whipping around a truck doing about 65 mph. Plows into me (3' into my trunk) shoots me like a pool ball across all 5 lanes of traffic. I was hit by a car in each lane (small impacts). I had a nasty head wound. No air bags because it was from the rear. It was my brand new Hyundai Elantra. Had I had my old 2004 civic, id probably be dead. Anyways... I had a lot of OT for my neck and hand. For years after I had daily, what I call upper neck migraines. It was so bad I had gotten to a dark place. We did settle with the insurance company and it was enough to make a large down payment on our house. *MAKE sure you have a good lawyer. The only thing that made my neck pain go away was proper daily stretching and an awesome chiropractor that knows his stuff. I have to still go to massage and chiropractor bi-weekly or it comes back. Ooohhh ya, 2 weeks after that I got my new car and I get rear ended again on the way home from work. Not totalled but $9000 in damage. I can't make this stuff up.... Talk about PTSD.
Anyways, I hope you heal up and track your healing for records... If needed.

My thoughts exactly, damage was right of the bumper frame attachment, another inch or two to the left and it would almost certainly deployed the air bags. Go to NHTSA and look at the offset crash videos. I am more curious how the passenger hit the windshield.

front bumper got blasted as well as side as you can see in this photo

Were you wearing a seat belt? If you were, I'm surprised the tensioner didn't activate to keep you away from the steering wheel. If you weren't, you should probably be glad the airbag didn't deploy.

January 29 worst day of my life.
Still dealing with a pinched nerve and a torn rotator cuff. Hopefully Ford can get the 2023 Ford maverick hybrid air bags working so nobody ends up worse then me. Vin # 3FTtW8E33PRA17219
Lee county sheriff case number
25-052704 states no air bag deployments.
State farm insurance crash report :
5979X742K also states no air bag deployments:
Glad you're okay. I would follow up but wonder if the fact it appears to be a glancing blow and didn't generate enough of a g force. It has to be pretty significant deceleration, otherwise they would deploy with extreme braking.

If front bumper has contact at 45mph, airbags should deploy….. my ford app said airbags have been deployed and to not drive the vehicle:)
It's the G force, not speed, otherwise a sudden bump in the road or even wind could set them off. Keep in mind an airbag can do more harm going off, if it's not needed.

Since the OP stated many times that the app said the airbag deployed and the truck didn’t deploy the airbag.

It sounds like the sensor told the airbag to deploy (hence the app saying it deployed) and for whatever reason, the airbag didn’t deploy.

If those are the facts, then that is very bad and scary.

The Maverick computer said that the airbags deployed. However, they didn't. Therefore they SHOULD have deployed but failed to do the one job that they were built for. This is a MAJOR failure!!!

The side airbags in my 22 MY were recalled and replaced? Did yours have a recall and were they replaced? Just asking..................

You may be right, but I agree with Glen and suspect the app and think the glancing blow was the reason for no deployment or maybe the accelerometer triggered but impact didn't since their locations are undamaged in photo. If that happened, it might explain the app.
